I believe the old ones made Big E as well as humanity to combat the necrons and chaos but died before they could realize his purpose themselves. He really is a GOD of order so I feel this theory makes sense n the old ones were powerful enough to create such a being

It's said that the Emperor isn't just the combination of tens of thousands of ancient human psykers and warriors, but apparently an Old One actually merged their soul during the ritual.

@@chairmanzia3556 Technically, The Flood is the mutated remains of the Precursors taking revenge against the Forerunners. Also, it's believed the Tyrannid evolved in the void between universes and has eaten the rest of the universe except our galaxy. But there are rumors that even that is a single tendril to a being that has devoured entire universes.

I have always had my own personal theory that is similar to the third theory. That he is a weapon from the Dark Age of Humanity.... but in my version he wasn't some "AI". That doesn't make any sense to me because he would need to have a soul to have such a powerful warp presence. My theory is that he was the last ditch effort of mankind to defeat the Men of Iron. A product of mankind's vastly superior technology of the time. A genetically engineered super weapon much like the primarchs but made with that far superior technology than even he had access to when making the primarchs. After all. The C'tan themselves said that he was made to be a weapon. They just never said how or by whom. He's also still just a man, a super enhanced man made with the greatest tech of humanity at it's peak, but a man. Which explains his drive to try and unite humanity and protect them while still making some pretty huge mistakes. His long "history" with the perpetuals could be easily explained away by him having altered their memory, which we know he can do, because he did it already with some of them and the primarchs when making them forget about the 2nd and 13th primarchs. I think he is what allowed Humanity to win the war against the Men of Iron only for the turbulent warp storms that preceded the birth of Slanesh to cut him off from the rest of humanity and force him to "stat over" the best way a being made to be a weapon would know how.

While I personally had my tinfoil hat on and thoroughly enjoyed the theories, its unfurtonate that recent canon debunked a lot of these possible theories about Big E. In Mortis we get several flashbacks from Ollanius Persson, showing us that the emperor was indeed around during the Time of the Old Testament, the Tower of Babel to be specific. So any theory that has the emperor emerge after the late stone age/early bronze age unfortunately has already been debunked by BL themselves. Still a good video though!

The last theory could still be true to even expanded that the perpetuals/ big e were mean to me a fusion of material and warp potential to avoid the mistake of the eldar gods where the warp eventually made a bigger god but him and the original perpetuals could’ve been the last old ones attempting to make a similar role to the eldar gods yet better duo to the fact they aren’t in the warp and can interact in person with their people

@@jordan8086 But even that theory has been largely debunked with the later developements in "The End and the Death Vol. 2". The Emperor relinquishing his powers as the Dark King states very clearly that emperor is destined to become the 5th Chaos God. We also know furthermore, that since the Warp doesnt follow our flow of time, things the Warp that exist, already existed for pretty much all of time and always will, hence the Dark King has always existed but has not been birthed into a fully fletched Chaos god in that way. It is hinted at that the Emperor might inevitably turn into the Dark King once he reassembles his Soul, mainly just remerging it with the Star Child, which he cut out during TEATD2, acting as the absolute end point for the entire Storyline I assume. Now could it all be somewhat of a Contingency by the Old Ones, they can´t beat Chaos, so they create a being that will become an Aspect of Chaos that wipes it out from the inside in the end? Possibly. I personally just don´t see it fit into the established narrative all too well right now, but who knows maybe in 5-10 years with some more fleshed out Emperor Lore, in whatever shape that may come and I will come back to eat my words.

@ that’s valid but and not trying to be a di ck but isn’t the whole warp and time thing kinda proven to not always be entirely true like sure the things the dark king may embody exist in the warp but if the always existing conflicting like slaneesh definitely wasn’t “ awake “ in the warp of heaven but the potential for the a god of excess and pleasure always did I suppose but the emperor isn’t a pure warp being ( maybe ) so I’m unsure how material beings and the whole warp has no time/ is always in the present

Nothing is really hard canon in 40k. It's a lot of rumours and flashbacks from different perspectives which often gets contradicted by other books and characters.

My own fun head canon is that earth was suppose to be the lizardmen's earth but the old one that was making them get destroyed by a rival with an asteroid. And his old one's maid decided not to waste earth but use what life leftover to create a new intelligent species... The mammal humans. But early humanity got angry at her incompetence and called her a snake. They would create the first super AI: the omnisiah. She tried to help her creators by making the STCs. They stopped blaming the snake and started blaming her, so she killed them all in the first hard reset of humanity. With the snake and the omnisiah the restarted humanity (the men of gold) thinking they could fix the flaws, it didn't work. So she killed them all (actually not all but most, the perpetuals were escaped men of gold) again and started the men of stone putting them back into a primitive state. Knowing that the snake and the omnisiah would always be blamed, they decided to create a separate figure head that humanity would swoon over, the Emperor. Then they parted ways to watch and were immediately disappointed. The omnisiah would make a back up in secret. The back up is my insert character, a teenage emperor type used to kick off narrative changes in the setting...like a better method of being back the lion (as far as I care his body is still on the rock and it's his spirit that is active in sons of the lion novel)

That picture at 0:45 wasn't of the emperor. People made that assumption. He's also a perpetual, the golden throne is not a life support device.

There are hints suggesting that Malcador was above the Emperor. For example, when he threatens to "unmake" Horus, it suggests it was actually him who created the primarchs (and unmade the two lost primarchs). Plus, who come he single handedly threatened to kill the emp's favourite son and got away with it? Also, there's a story where malcador creates a person just because he needed someone to share dark secrets he couldn't tell anyone else (only to kill him later). Didn't he have the emperor to share his secrets? So that means Malcador had secrets unknow even by the Emperor? Or maybe the emperor wasn't really a person, but just a projection created by malcador? Also, i suspect that the carrion person sitting on the golden throne this whole time is actually malcador.
