I just made this. I used a combo of these ingredients and his cookbook ingredients. In his book, they suggest one apple - didn't have it so substituted 2 fresh dates. Instead of jalepeno, I used a very little red pepper. I added cilantro, 1/2 avocado, and 1/2 cup blueberries. Instead of tomato drink, I used a fresh plump tomato. The book suggests 2 tbs chlorella & I substituted spirulina. Delicious! Healthy, happy eating makes for a healthy, happy body! Thanks Dr. Greger

I’m 44 years old and have had a weight problem for several years. I’m finally stopping the yo-yo fad diet craze and focusing not on weight loss but on putting as much healthy food in my body as possible. I’m starting to have health issues that, after much research, I firmly believe I can reverse with diet and simply walking an hour a day. Your books and videos have CHANGED MY LIFE!! The pharma companies won’t tell us this stuff, people! They want us dependent on their drugs to fatten their pockets! Our bodies want to be healthy but can’t because of the junk we put in them! Keep up the good work, Dr. Greger and THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO!! I’m at the beginning of my new healthy lifestyle, y’all. Wish me luck! Hugs and well wishes to everyone here trying to get healthy! WE CAN DO THIS! ❤️💪 Also, if you haven’t downloaded Dr. Greger’s ‘daily dozen’ app, I highly recommend it‼️

For those without an amazing blender, do chop up your carrot and other things into small pieces first. You can also pop your daily dose of flaxseed into the blender too to be blended with the veggies. And also my weaker blender needs cold water instead of ice cubes to cope lol If u have difficulty with the taste of this smoothie, leave out all the 'hot' items/ condiments and the tomato juice and instead pop in a whole large mango and an apple (chopped) plus some water if needed ... Much more pleasant.

I had been making much the same recipe for several years before Dr. Greger informed and entertained us with this video. My recipe has two differences, however. Instead of one mixture, I make one from greens ("Greens") and the other from root vegetables ("Roots and Reds"). Also, I use vegetable broth, instead of ice, and warm the mixtures slightly, and call the resulting mixtures "soup" and not "smoothie." Consuming two servings of the "Greens" and "Roots and Reds" each day increased by energy and endurance significantly.

Hi! I plan to post vid on my channel soon on how I make my turmeric shots :) When I'm feeling lazy I just pour some ground turmeric (about half teaspoon) into a shot glass. Then put few dashes of black pepper (to help absorb the benefits of the turmeric) and then I put some lemon juice with the tiniest dash of cayenne pepper in it and a little bit of coconut water :) Often I also put Amla (Indian Gooseberry) powder into this shot mixture so I can get a huge antioxidant boost. I make my shots this way when I don't feel like having to juice or blend the turmeric roots :)

I have been eating this smoothly for the past 3 days. I thought it would be horrible and that I'd have to hold my nose and down it as fast as I could, but surprisingly it wasn’t bad!! I haven't found vegan horseradish, but I substituted the radish with some garlic and it seemed to work.

Had to backtrack. I couldn’t believe he said that. So funny. But yes that’s what they look like.

I followed your does stricktly for 2 years and was great at first, mainly because I quit eating processed anything. Started getting rashes, brain fog, always sleepy, gray skin etc. the most nutritious food on the planet is Ribeye. Also very delicious, I went lion diet and I feel a million times better than any other diet I have done. Your skin looks gray as well.

Best smoothie video I have ever seen. The ten burpees was an inspiring surprise. Lol Thanks Dr. Greger.

Completely agree. I'm feeling the pressure to do the burpees next time I make this. That and his treadmill walking during interviews are genius tactics to remind his audience to keep moving.

First heard his book How Not To Die on Audible. He narrates his own book. You could hear his humor in his voice. Doc you are even more fun to watch. Being healthy is fun. And yup you use a Vita Mix.

I made this this morning and it is QUITE GOOD!!! It really surprises me because the color and the super green smelled me preparing for the worst but once it hit my tongue I found myself chugging it down. I think my body needed it which is probably why I was so receptive of the taste. I've prepped 5 bags so I can have one each mrng!!! And I used tomato puree as I didnt have any tomato juice. I also added a fist full of spinach and a chunk of ginger!! Thanks for sharing!!! **edit and 1/2 of an avocado!!!
