I am a nanny of a 14 month old boy. His favorite food is my beef because I am lion diet; the favorite part of my food is not only the beef but the beef fat tr, which I eat with my food. He will answer anyone who's asking him what he wants to eat "beef" He always says beef, and he is absolutely correct, because it is his favorite thing, it's great for him. He's super smart and healthy, and fortunately his parents have just rolled with it, and while he does get the random fruit or vegetable they always give him 'beef'.👍🏻❣️❣️❣️

“The joy of medicine for Dr Fetke is giving people back their health”.....the joy of You Tube and channels like Judys is giving people back their health. I am 61 years old, 4 years into low carb, no seed oils and mostly meat and eggs - never felt better since my early 20’s. The ‘perceived joy’ of eating carbs and fructose has been completely eliminated for me and all cravings for them are gone.....so simple yet miraculous for my health. Great podcast 🙏

Thank you for reminding me that staying the carnivore/keto path will eventually diminish my desire for fruit and vegetables. I was carnivore and enjoying all the amazing benefits, but gradually brought back “innocent “ veggies” and slowly all veggies and fruit. Then cereals. Then the crazy celery juice Medical Medium lured me. What a mistake. I’m a mess! So thank you because I’m starting carnivore as of this minute. I am grateful - be happy that you have helped me and probably others.❤

So many products promoted as having organic cane sugar, basically half fructose. So much touting of agave nectar, often 80% fructose. A few years ago, fructose was touted as perfect for type 1 diabetics like me, because of its low glycemic index. I can’t imagine it being good for anyone.

If you have an interest in fructose metabolism I would highly recommend a read of the paper - The Small Intestine Converts Dietary Fructose into Glucose and Organic Acids by Jang et al from February 2018, which details the role of the small intestine and ketohexokinase in dealing with the ingestion.of fructose and how it limits the amount of fructose entering the portal vein.

Wow. This is really a must-read. "eat sweets in moderation after meals" and I personally would add "do that every day" and not binge eat it once a month. The question of max fructose dose in humans or even individual humans seems to be still open for me. is it 5g of sugar for a 60kg person or is it more like 60g? - What this paper also is not discussing: fructoneogenesis from glucose and the effects on the liver and metabolism.

@@wocket42 there's only 4 grams, which is a teaspoon, of circulating glucose in the 7 liters of our blood. A strawberry 3 times a day is the limit for upsetting this balance. The body treats glucose that is ingested , not manufactured, as poison.

I love Gary. He understands the role of fructose in nature just like Dr Johnson, Dr Perlmutter, Judy and I do. Dr Fettke was the first person besides Dr Johnson I actually heard say that fructose causes us to gain weight in the fall so we could survive the winter, and he also understands the symbiosis between fruit and animals, how we spread the seeds for the fruit plants. I'm actually amazed at how few carnivores really understand the role of fructose. They tend to think all sugars are created equal, and that metabolic disease is caused just be eating carbs and having high insulin. I call this the "Gary Taubes" rationale for disease. Fructose is the main culprit for metabolic changes to the body for most people, not glucose. It's been very hard to convince the carnivore community that fructose and glucose are not equally bad or have the same metabolic effects. I have been trying to tell Dr Chaffee for about 6 months now, and eventually I will succeed.

I believe in both God’s “creation” of mankind and the evolution of our biology from scavengers to hunters. They don’t have to be in opposition to each other. It’s easy to account for both so long as your not pigeonholing God’s timeline of creation by believing in the modern, numerological translation of translations that try to convince Christians that dinosaur fossils and everything else blinked into existence only 6000+ years ago. One day of God’s creation could have been many millions of years in our modern construction of time.

The symbol of the forbidden fruit is actually the opposite. “Be ye wise as serpents” as Jesus was quoted in the New Testament, eating of the fruit was to gain knowledge of the heavens and lifted primitive man into spiritual beings, only forbidden for those not properly initiated into the mysteries. So fruit was seen as divine or godly foods. But I digress, I’m full carnivore

My belief system around food is still developing. I have started with the idea plants can't run away. They must defend themselves against insects and herbivores. They must make life for these animals difficult. With that in mind I've come to believe fructose is bribery by plants. Humans have used fructose as a signaling molecule that Summer's over and it's time to gain some weight.

I've been mostly carnivore for over 2 years and have just been diagnosed with breast cancer (that from the scans, started pre carnivore). EVERY website, doctor and nutritionist I have looked to for advice is telling me to stop eating meat, seafood and saturated fat. For the last few days I've eaten a high fruit, veg and no meat diet but I am craving a steak. I am not fixed in my thinking, I'm happy to follow the science, but all the science I've read about a high meat and fat diet causing breast cancer is based on questionnaire studies lumping meat with high carbs or seed oils. I need certainty at the moment, and want to go back to carnivore but this confusion has removed my enjoyment of eating and is not good for my mental health. Any suggestions?

Second the Dr Chaffee recommendation. There's a lot of epidemiological studies and self-reporting (pseudoscience) on the subject, but whatever you choose to do managing stress and enjoying life is important in the process of healing too. Many plants are medicinal and have benefits, but to abstain from meat entirely will rob you of cellular energy and building blocks needed for repair. In my opinion they throw the baby out with the bathwater. Wish you well.
