TIL It stands for Titanium. It doesn't mean anything in particular (there's no special relationship between the GTX 780 and 780 Ti, or 660 and 660 Ti for example) it just means NVIDIA ran out of model numbers and had to make up some in between ones.

I personally have two EVGA GTX 1080 FTWs. And I am using their step up program only having to pay $60 with shipping included and sending my two cards in and getting 1080 TI as replacements I am so excited I will probably do SLI for benchmarks and glam shots but for actual gaming and relative performance I think vertical mount/solo card setup is in my future

@ 4:10 Alright, others have probably pointed this out, but that is a SINGLE-LINK DVI adapter, not Dual Link. You need an active adapter ($100+), not a passive one to do dual link DVI from displayport. All people with 120Hz or 144Hz monitors with only DVI Dual link (like mine) are hosed, and can't use more than single link up to about 80Hz with the 1080Ti FE.

Just an FYI, TTL over at OC3D pulled this and the 1080 apart and found the "revised" cooler has 1... yes 1 extra fin, other than that it's exactly the same.

wow, this card is truly amazing. I got a GTX980 TI and looks like the GTX 1080TI performs twice as better, definitely worth an upgrade. and this is the reference version if I'm not mistaken, I can't even imagine how customized versions will perform.

Nicholas Reif Not really. I start off from scratch playing around with contrast, color intensity, blacks, shadows etc... It's all about DAT feel ;)

It does to a fashion, but I knew that upgrading from my 1070. The Ti still performs awesome - just not to it's full potential of course and I play all my games maxed out. Just waiting a bit longer to upgrade to a decent AM4 system once the prices go down a bit. At least I hope they do... ;-)

Excellent review! It is truly amazing how powerful the 1080 TI is. It is funny though at how many people want to play at 4k with anti aliasing on, since AA is so overkill at 4k, turning all AA off will improve your frame rates drastically at 4k. Making the GTX 1080 Ti the perfect match for ultra 60fps 4k gaming.

It's not a dual link DVI adapter. It's passive and only gives single link DVI up to 1920x1200 60Hz. In order to get dual link you need an active adapter which costs much more

Overkill for regular gaming, but what about for VR? The next versions of the major player VR headsets will likely have larger resolution screens. Think the 1080Ti will be enough to push potentially 4K VR @ 90FPS? Think we're gonna be sacrificing quality in that range, still!

Chris Matlock u should read a little carefully before you respond, minimum 60fps not average meaning the frame rate never drops below 60 while playing, and not just one game all games, so like I said u need 1080 Ti SLI

Chris Matlock where the fuck did you get your data from? None of the games you mentioned minimum is above 40fps, that's very noticeable if your recording or streaming gameplay and it's very relevant in this case
