I don't think you watched the video.... it's being done intentionally to release alongside the amd and Intel gpus.... aka: to take a dump on their sales 😂 You gotta remember the forty series, is not going down in price, nvidia is just raising the price of the fifty series

@@DanDoesPC Yeah but let's take the current rumors as a hypothetical situation: If AMD releases their gpu for 500-600$ and it's equivalent to a 4080, then it doesn't matter if nvidia releases a 1200$ 5080 unless it's literally double the speed of a 4080 which we know isn't going to happen.

Now, this is the rumor I heard. Only SK Hynix GDDR7 will be a bit late (Q1 next year). Micron and Samsung will have their GDDR7 ready in this year.

So you think they can even keep up with demand then? The last card I got was a 3080 during the chip shortage. Were the 4090 cards 100% available on release?

The 50 series will be hard to get, but not as bad as the 40 series was. That was during covid & due to scalpers collecting unemployment setting up bots with there free time

So with this information. Is it worth me upgrading my 2060 to a 4080 Super or should I be waiting? Originally my plan was to upgrade everything but the GPU like this week and holding off until the 50 series. But if they're pushing it back then maybe it's worth pulling the trigger now?

if you need it now buy it. a 4080 super will last you a long time. noone knows what happends in the future. buy that damn 4080 S and enjoy gaming. the 5080 wont be the savior of gaming

@@LegionzGG Yeah that's really true. The only thing I was thinking about was how long a 4080S will last compared to a 5080, and if its a long time then maybe its worth the wait afterall you know?

@@dhodges1911 It's a tough decision to make. As someone here said previously I don't think the next generation will be the saviour of gaming - but from what im hearing it might be quite a big bump in performance... So it's a game of luck if we decide to wait I presume... But for me personally, it's mostly my other components that have been struggling with general tasks; so I'm replacing those and then waiting for the next gen - I think ^^

$12k? Bro what are you planning on putting in it for a $12k budget? A threadripper? Multiple 8tb m2s? 256gb ram? Full custom water cooling? An ounce of gold for aesthetics? Like even if 5090s are $3k I think you’d have to go out of your way to spend $12k.

I watched RedGaming techs new video today and kinda a bummerr that the 5000 series may not be another jump like that was first suggested, a 5080/5070 only 25-30% faster than the 4080Super/4070 Super is kinda a bummer.

Unfortunately, yeah, I do agree, but at the same time, nvidia is so far ahead of amd and intel on the gpu side its stuff they don't really have to do anything.

@@Zombie101 But the price difference will be more than %25. That's the thing we already have a gpu that is %25 faster than 4080 which is 4090, however it is very expensive.

Energy efficiency and other things matter. Most games won't profit anyways, and AI needs huge amount of fast vRAM instead of compute.

3070 here, feels like they made it underpowered on purpose, but at least in combination with AMD's frame gen i'm getting 90FPS in black myth on 1440p optimized settings. (80% DLSS)

if you already have a 40 series card, stick with it. A 4090 is already super OP, a 5090 will only really be useful to gaming streamers and game devs. Regular gamers do not need that much power.

In most cases, yes. Unfortunately, 4090's don't support DisplayPort 2.1 which is required to hit 240Hz on a Samsung G9 57" monitor at 7680x2160
