One bright spot in the tech world right now is TV's. The competition is so cutthroat in the TV space right now that companies are pumping out some amazing TVs for not that much money. What you can presently get in the TV market for just $300 or $400 is incredible compared to even 4 or 5 years ago. Don't forget there is the ai boom. They can sell these cards for more. Then release the actual 5080ti as 5080 ti super. Ai boom will end just like crypto did. They made the mistake with the 3080 10gb which is what i have atm. The only reason why i bought a 3080 10gb is because because the 3090 was only like 15% faster than my 3080 for like an extra 700$. There was no performance gap to slot in extra cards. No incentive to upgrade for 2 years. This is what they plan to FIX now for them. 5080 aka 5070 5080ti aka 5080 25 to 30% more cuda cores. extra 400$ 5080Ti super aka 5080 ti for extra 30% another 400$ Since whenever they need to satisfy shareholders they will just throw out a another card for even more profit... Then next christmas they will upgrade again.

One example I checked for myself was the 4070 Ti vs 3090 Ti in Cyberpunk with path tracing, claiming 3x. I checked some videos of how the 4070 Ti runs it with FG, matched the same settings with my 3090 (non-Ti), and it's just total BS. What's funnier is due to the 12GB VRAM of the 4070 Ti, it ended up getting huge stuttering problems with FG enabled since it eats some VRAM, so my 3090 ended up running it more stable. In the end it's just basic math and common sense. The slide claiming "4080 = 2-4x 3080 Ti" is impossible. Even the 4090 cannot reach 4x of a 3080 Ti with FG, since it's never 2x faster to begin with, and FG doesn't double FPS as the actual process of generating frames takes some time on the GPU. Usually you can go from like 60-70 base FPS to 100. Combine it with the 4090 being roughly 60-80% faster than a 3080 Ti / 3090, there is no way to get 4x like that. tl;dr: they are lying

At the rate of un optimization we have been seeing in games, I wouldn't be surprised to see all AAA titles require an rtx 4080 to run high settings at 60fps in 1080p resolution by 2026. Which means native 1080p at medium settings is running at 30fps or less if they are also using dlss along side frame generation. That's what's nuts. I'll be shocked if the rtx 4080 can even do ultra 1080p at 60fps in monster hunter wilds. Alan wake 2, starfield, the last of us part 1 and 2, dragons dogma 2, black myth wukong, all of these games struggle on current generation hardware at 1080p!!! Anything above the rtx 4070 should be achieving 60fps at 4k in all titles new and old. They are out of control.

games got into a toxic spiral in the mid 10s... they would watch NVIDIA release a product, hold off their purchase till AMD launched, complain AMD is priced too high. wait for the AMD price correction a few weeks later, NOT buy AMD but wait for the NVIDIA price correction in response, nvidia cuts prices about $50 across the board, and then they would all jump in and buy Nvidia. God of war ragnarok, 8.3gb (ish) used? locked at 120fps NATIVE. Resident evil? load of crap the modern res games, wouldn't even be seen unalived playing them. Cyberpunk, path tracing maxed out and 10.5gb used. I even used Halks quality textures mod. made it reach 11.2. which is by far the most vram i have seen used on my system. locked at 100fps with dlss and frame gen which is needed on any card with all that graphical fidelity pumping. No such thing as future proofing a pc either. You'll have to upgrade every 5 years (ish). Or be one of those weirdos who upgrade every year 🤷‍♂ 4k? absolutely, need more vram. Not every pc gamer is gaming at 4k. 1440p high hz g sync trumps all over 4k. Everything you have just read comes from someone who actually uses a 12gb card. @@J0ttaD that running out of vram for the last of us was really poorly optimization when it came out, after paches even at 4k ultra 12gb its enough (I know because I tested it), also resident evil 4 remake I played at 4k and runs very well on 12gb (just don't max out everything). I have a 4070ti and it definitely should had come with 16gb of vram I agree but even at 4k you can play every game just fine with some adjusted settings.

And this is the Customers fault. AMD leaving competition because nobody buyed their Cards. RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 was good for Gaming. Okay Raytracing was worse, but let us be honest. Raytracing on a RTX4060 or RTX4070 is a lagshow. Even for RTX4080 in some titles its very low fps. So not much lost with Radeon. And Radeon has Frame Generation for all Games. Today we get a RX7900 GRE with RTX 4070 ti Super Speed for 550€ New in Europe. And a RX7900XT for 650€ New. This is like 1/3 the price of a RTX4090.

@@DeviatorBytes You are right about Raytracing. Raytracing isn't even worth it for a 4090. Too much performance lost with not enough a return in image quality. Sometimes games even look worse with raytracing because it is pixelated and requires blurry TAA to hide the pixelation. It's a gimmick meant to sell their GPUs and it works.

Looking at the specs of the RTX 5080, if correct, it will probably be a bit slower than the RTX 4090 but maybe with better ray tracing or some other new tech. And I disagree that the RTX is not designed for the ultra high end gamer. Nvidia needs to give an upgrade path for the most profitable customers, so yes this will be aimed at RTX 3090/4090 owners.

The only reason to even consider the A100 over it is if you simply need a shit load of Vram which only people running big ai models would need. People working in 3d rendering or many other work environments will be more than happy with an xx90 class card or lower.

They never used the top die for an 80 class GPU. Only the 3080 was the exception. GTX 980 = GM204 GTX 1080 = GP104 RTX 2080 = TU104 NVIDIA made an exception for the 3080 and now everyone is seeing it as a standard.
