Also, now you can watch the videos of Suga's solo concerts in the States before he went to the military! He has a good voice and is a master producer, piano player, guitar player, etc. Some of the concert was Suga rapping, but he also sang, accompanying himself on guitar or piano. His concerts were all sold out!

Loved your amazement and confusion at J-Hope and Suga. As the other comments have said - yes it is them singing. No lip syncing for our boys. There are lots of times J-Hope has sung - the two that come to mind are Spring Day (the opening lines are him) and his song Mama. Suga incorporated singing in his recent solo world tour. This day this video was released was a roller coaster of emotions. First it had a teaser which clarified that the concept was about the end of Covid. Then we, the fans, watched the video, obviously in English and I felt seen with so many Westerners who portrayed someone like me. As the day continued, realizing they were using sign language in the choreography inviting the hard of hearing to dance, too, I was just crying happy tears after another batch of happy tears. Unfortunately many BTS fans hated the Western, all English direction the group was going. There were angry messages and people quitting army. It was popping the purple balloons in my heart, but I just spent the time looking through that last crowd scene - it has everyone Bang Si Hyuk, now Chairman of the Board of Hybe , and Son Song Deuk, then choreographer, now executive creator, and everyone who worked on the shoot, including Son Song Deuk’s little boy who was in the video.

BTS brought back the joy of music and I am so thankful. PTD was an early song I heard as well and it has always been one of my favorites - one of many.

You’re going to get this answer a ton but yes each member is indeed singing the parts they represents both Yoongi(Suga) and Jhope have beautiful voices. This video was about all seven being together and bringing joy with the pandemic still going. It was basically saying even with the world as it is we can still find joy. Shortly after this the concerts were confirmed for the Permission to Dance Tour so it was also saying hey we don’t need to wait this is happening! They taught their whole crew the choreo at the end of the video which was spontaneous and they chose to put it at the end.

Welcome back! Yes, J-Hope actually has a great voice; very clean, and then sometimes low and growly. Suga has said he wants to be a better singer as well, and he has been working on that. Jungkook does the guide versions of their songs, and many/most of the ad-libs are his, but the one you noted was done by Jin. The fact that they included sign language is just another facet of how inclusive they are as a group. They are all so hard-working and talented, and this video was pure fun during the pandemic.

Love the reaction! Not sure if mention before, but as a side note, this was written Ed Sheeran, also, the black outfit worn by Jimin was also worn in the new Barbie move by Ken, Ryan Gosling. Gosling became aware of the fact and did a video were he gifted Jimin the guitar he used in the movie. Also, you should check out Suga (feature in That That , by Psy) Suga, wrote, produced, preformed, sang, in mv and a live concert. I would watch MV first. They also have the making of mv as well as other videos like Suga learning the dance. They , BTS do not lip sync, I am pretty Suga hates that kind of stuff as well as auto tune. Both Suga and Jhope sing as well as rap. I know it is shocking how multi talented they all are. Not just with music, but painting, and other activities. Its crazy. Blessings! I could tell straightaway that Suga’s and J-Hope’s speaking voice quality is reflected in their singing voice, even if I had been new to this video. BTS’ integrity would not allow the 2 rappers lip-sync over another member’s singing.

Hobi and Suga definitely both sing. They both sing in Film Out, Suga has a song called SeeSaw where he sings (I Love this dang song so much! I never tire of hearing it.) Hobi sings a song about his mother called Mama. It’s very endearing. If I remember correctly Ed Sheeran helped in producing Permission to Dance. If you watch the video again, you will see that they are doing sign language for our fellow ARMY that are deaf. It shows that BTS cares so much about all of their fans so much and we definitely love them so very much as well. This was the last song performed at their Permission to Dance shows in LA and Vegas. No, when you see a member singing, thats the one really singing. They don't trick that. Jungkook is the main singer of BTS, but they all have their parts. JK and Jimin are the ones doing the most adlibbs in this song. Jin is doing the nanananana. All of the Rappers have done singing in different BTS songs, as well as in their solo stuff. But specially J-Hope has a great singing voice as well. (Check out his song Mama). As JK has been rapping also, specialy in the earlier songs when they'd just debuted. He is a good rapper with a bit of a hoarse sound. The last part was dancing with the crew, camera, sound, producers even Bang PD and their performance director Son Sung Deuk was there.

"Joyfull, joyfull' - that's the first word that comes to my mind about PTD. It's impossible not to smile when you listen/watch. You escape from reality for a few minutes - you feel happy, free and without worries - at least for a little while. Did you notice that they also use sign language? They do it on purpose so that hearing impaired people can also enjoy it. The choreography is also made in such a way that it's easy to dance - making you happy that you can dance together with them - because you are also part of the community, you can feel that you are not alone. This is one of their mission. Miraculous. And yes, J-hope and Suga sing those parts - ofc! Who else?! All 3 rappers of BTS can sing great! Permission to dance is such a queen. It's a song that cheered us up during the tough times of the pandemic. Same with butter and dynamite. One thing I absolutely love about Tannies music is that they always reflect on the times they went through and what they needed to express or hear during that time. Hi, Nathan. So glad you are on this journey with BTS. Just a few things for your info :) 1. The boys are extremely versatile. The rappers CAN do vocals as well, so yeah, that is J-Hope's voice and that is Suga's voice. They be vocalling! 2. Don't go anywhere near AI. Just my personal opinion. It takes away years of training a human does with his or her voice and reduces it to a mere click of a button. A shame, truly. 3. Did you know the hand gestures they are making is in sign language? For the hearing-challenged to understand. Look it up :) 4. Oh, if you are ever wondering if the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook) can rap...or if the rap line (RM, Suga and J-Hope) can do vocals - just watch them singing live on stage shows or music shows. J-Hope, Suga and RM are all singing the parts that are represented with them in the MV. All of them can sing, the rappers of the group just don't do it as often as the main vocalists. It's always a treat when we get them singing though, I always love it. For me, I think that's why one of Suga's solo songs (under the name Agust D) works so well- Amygdala. If you would like to check out a live vocal, they did perform this at the UN general assembly and they were all singing live. From what I understand from other Army, they're just notoriously bad at lip syncing to their own songs in music videos

I know it's a little late, but J-Hope said in one interview that he wanted to be a SINGER as a kid. He learned rapping as a trainee, so way later. I love his singing voice. 😊 Suga said in one interview that he wants to try out new things. So he took more vocal lessons. He really sings a lot in his solo album D-Day and in my opinion he did a great job!
