I grew up with fishing as my favorite sport. I covered all streams in my local area to a distance about 10 miles radius. Now I’m old and 100% disabled. I have gone deep-sea fishing one time. And I really enjoyed it. The videos on KZbin are my fishing adventures now. I particularly like yours because they are down to earth without any extra flashy nonsense. I have three or four other fishing channels that I watch on KZbin. I like them all but I like yours best. Thanks for doing it so often.

I was literally air chewing my way through that last bite of trout taco along with you. Watching you land that monster was super thrill. Using low pound test makes it a real even contest I think. Now I'm getting seriously determined to get a a Dutch oven. They're great and can last in a family for generations to come. Practically indestructible. I'm Ontario side of the border - about 75 miles northeast from Niagara Falls. But my best good buddy has a farm up Algonquin Park way, about 150 miles northeast of me. There we have giant moose and probably white tail deer - that attract apex predators, the first three you mentioned, but not the fourth. So that would be black bears (no grizzlies - not until out in Alberta and British Columbia) wolves, not as big as timber, but gray, good size, and of course the coyotes that are real pests around a farm. No mountain lions (what would have been eastern panthers 200 years ago) but long gone now. It's more than a legend or a myth though, they're real scarce - but a patient woodsman might spot one in the interior of New Brunswick - due north of the state of Maine. Got a good book for ya, my friend. It's written by an expat Englishman woodsman who migrated to Canada long ago. His name is R.D. Lawrence. The title of the book is: "The Ghost Walker." And the story is riveting. He stakes out a territory in southern British Columbia, sets up a camp with a tiny cabin, and spends an early autumn to the following deep spring - establishing a relationship and understanding with a fully grown male mountain lion. The story is riveting. It's one of those can't put the book down kind of things. A rare, gorgeous, beautiful book. Love your videos. I watch them when I'm in a certain restless mood, and crave something real and peaceful, with just that hint of adventure. And I watch most of them hungry! Enjoying the nourishment from nature is a real blessing and a gift. Fish on!!!

You ask what animals we have in our area, I live in Australia.... I went camping for a night last week with a friend, while we were sat at our campfire, we were watching a Kangaroo and a Possum grazing in the clearing across from us, I seen two wombats that noght, and the next morning, while we were having our coffee, the Lyrebird that kept us awake all night made an appearance, which was amazing, all we could was watch, amazed, as it crossed the path 100 metres in front of us,... In case you are wondering, what makes this occurrence amazing, is that lyrebirds are super skitish around humans, and most people NEVER see them in the wild, and we were lucky enough to watch this majestic bird wander past us, like we were nothing, while we were having our morning coffees,.... Australia is a truly amazing place,

Among everything else you present to the growing viewership in the way of cooking, fishing, how to find baits, etc., it's the "little incidentals" that you show as well. Mentioning about stressing a branch to cut easier, by pushing it away from the cut, that means alot to someone just learning to venture out. Most exceptional (to me) is your constant desire to keep litter out of nature, it's such a great example and message, thank you for sharing your awesome experiences with us.

Absolutely man! Really just take it step by step if you've never done it before. Start with camping at a camp ground and learn to cook on primitive stoves, making fires, and sleeping in tents. Slowly start replacing your "Camping gear" with "Backpacking gear. Some things might be interchangeable, but others need to be compact and lightweight in order to pack them up into the mountains. Start hiking to get into basic shape and when you feel ready, start with an easy backpacking adventure just in the hills or woods near you! See how you like it, and learn what gear you didn't need (and what gear you forgot) before you go out on longer, more remote adventures. Read up on the 10 essentials, and other safety precautions, as well as "leave no trace" principles before you go on your first adventure too. If you do all of that, you will be well ahead of other first timers and you're setting yourself up for a lot of fun and success in the wild. I hope that helps! Glad to have you subscribed 🤙

I remember when I was deployed to Afghanistan I saw packs of coyotes every night on post. It was pretty cool to watch them with night vision. I’d see one main coyote howling wherever they were. And the rest of the pack would call back. They would do that for a few minutes and it was so neat to watch. Then they would meet up and run home. I’m a country full of war it was really uplifting and really cool to see wild life do their thing.

When I was a kid they would drain the ditches out by the Potholes Reservoirs and you could bring buckets and just pick up walleye and bass that were trapped in the puddles that remained. Looks like you're near there. It's worth it for the walleye. After trout, I think walleye is my next favorite fish to eat. Thanks for the videos! Your channel is great!

Canada 🍁 🇨🇦 we have everything the woods are always alive it’s so nice to just sit out on the back porch and watch the moon and coyotes howling, with a camp fire going and my rod in the water , pros and cons to living out in the bush , but I’m my opinion being around nature is much more healthy for the mind ,body, and spirt
