This man singlehandedly inspired me to get into camping and fishing. Bought a full set of camping/backpacking gear a few days ago and a rod. Yesterday caught my first (little) trout and am going solo camping and fishing in the French Alps in a few days. Can't wait to catch and cook a trout while on my trip. I used to live in walhalla. I fished the chauga and the chattooga rivers all the time. Beautiful place up there but I love Michigan more. More and bigger fish up here. Image that 12in. Trout that's 10 or 15lbs.

But even up there can find all kinds of fish but not big trout. Its mostly areas getting stocked and fished out. Haven't really fished MI besides southwest. I know of some remote spots in CO and CA where can find trout that big but it too many years exploring areas many people don't go to.

Man first of all great viedo , wonderful places nice catches and i love how you explain what people should look for to kee the natural enviroment healthy, also that background information about the native creatures and that the fish actually got brought into those lakes. Although i have to say my Flyfisher-heart was bleeding , seeing you not to go for Flyfishing on that first lake. I think the second lake wasnt really possible to flyfish there but the first one looked kinda made for flyfishing. Anyways geat video , wonderfull footage , can`t wait to see more of your videos !!!

My son and I did a trek like that, it took us over 2 hours to get to the lake we found on our map. The only thing was the fish were only about 3 in. long. We sat around resting and then had to make ourmway back down, Still a memory for Father and son.
