Quick tip on fly rod assembly, assemble the top two. Then the bottom two. Then connect the halves together.

Dried dandelion flowers make a nice tea, the roots dried and roasted and ground makes a nice caffeine free 'coffee'. Fresh flowers, I like to dip them in either pancake or cornbread batter and fry them up.

When you have trout rising to the indicator try switching to a dropper set up. So a large dry fly like a foam grasshopper with tipit going down to a nymph. Then your top fly acts as an indicator that also will catch the fish that strike it.

I know that smell of the mountain forests of Washington. I can imagine it even from trips to Sunrise and Paradise when I was a teenager. It's the dirt, the trees, the water all mixing in a cacophony of aromatics that create a strata of memories which rival the mountain trails and meadows themselves.

Hey man love the vids. When fishing the bullet lure up stream, you should try a really slow retrieve since the bait fish you are imitating aren’t the greatest swimmers so it might be unnatural for the other fish to see a minnow flying up stream.

In those mountain rivers, I have had luck using a 'wedding ring' with a short piece of worm on the hook. Cast up river and retrieve just fast enough to keep it our of the rocks.
