Jeff Jarrett was simply not a main event level talent. He was a (really) good in-ring worker and he was as smooth as anyone between the ropes. But he simply didn't connect on a personal level. The guitars, I feel, really didn't help. They just kept reminding us of him being 'Double J'.

A bonus Blunder Point for the way Bret Hart "regained" the WCW Title during the reveal of nWo 2000: By Roddy Piper pinning Goldberg. Seriously, when you watch the footage you see Piper cover Goldberg, clearly to protect him, and for whatever reason the referee counts it like a pin, all while Bret looks on in utter confusion. Obviously, Piper jumped the gun & shielded Goldberg before Bret actually made the pin, but the fact that the ref essentially just went "F It!", counted it as though it was a pin, & awarded the match & title to Bret, when Piper was the one making the "cover", is an all time WCW Blunder. At that point just call it as a no contest, have Bret say the next week (or even on Thunder) that he never actually vacated the title to begin with, and that it was all just a ruse to mess with Goldberg & Piper.

I still giggle how in the end the only nWo stable that broke up cause of a stipulation from a match was nWo Japan. Keiji Muto lost to former member Masahiro Chono, who formed a stable called Team 2000, at the annual January 4 Tokyo Dome show on January 4, 2000. All the others just broke up and members went their separate ways: OG nWo became nWo Hollywood than turned into nWo B-Team and shut down after leader Stevie Ray left to reform Harlem Heat, nWo Wolfpack went out quietly (after becoming nWo Elite) and just became Kevin Nash entering to the Wolfpack theme, and the WWE version of the nWo just went out quietly (Kevin Nash got hurt, X-Pac was fired, Scott Hall fired, Booker T & Big Show kicked out, and HBK was left alone).
@DBoy3810 сағат бұрын
Wrong. WWE's incarnation of the nWo ended when Vince announced the dissolution of the group during the July 15 2002 episode of RAW. By then HBK, X-Pac and Big Show were the only active members of the group (with Nash out injured); at that time Michaels was trying to recruit Triple H into the group but it got quickly scrapped in favor of what we all know: fake DX reunion into Triple H heel turn into HBK's in-ring return at SummerSlam.

Nwo should’ve remained small and elite instead of taking anyone willing to wear a nwo t shirt
@dennissmith10727 сағат бұрын
I disagree that it was the worst NWO faction. The elite/b-team split was way worse. It didn't really have the chance to prosper because Bret got hurt, but it was what the original always should have been. It was small and disruptive. They didn't have their hand in every match, only matches they cared about. They obstructed business to get what they wanted. And they were small. That was the best part. I think they suffered from the same issues every other iteration of the NWO had. They had no direction. There was no over arching story for the faction. They kind of just existed. There are a lot of heel factions throughout history that we fans are fond of, but the ultimate purpose of a heel is to lose. That never really happened. Their feuds never blew off and their story never concluded. That said, I also don't understand what was so cool about the original NWO. As a kid it was shiny and new so I guess there was that and I thought they were cool. Looking back at it though even when it was just Hogan, Hall, and Nash it was pretty corny. It was worse than DX 2006. Shawn and HHH were at least funny. This was like three grown men getting as *close* to edgy as they could without getting in trouble then giggling that they were such rebels. I have no idea how WCW's primarily older audience ever thought they were cool. Don't get me wrong, though. It wasn't just the NWO. Watching reliving the war with you all this time has shown me that WCW always was kind of lame, at least since Bischoff took over. Comparing the dialogues and monologues to the promos WWF were doing at the time was painful. I don't know why I or anyone else ever thought they were a better product.
@BiscoWho13 сағат бұрын
Actually, Willy Wigberg did have a little pipe concealed in his hand. The first window was gimmicked. However, the second one was not. You know that he has a pipe concealed in his hand by how he hits the window that is not gimmicked. Just go ahead and try breaking a legit car window with nothing but your hand, mate. If you want to have any chance at all, then you cannot hit it with the SOFTEST part of your hand, I assure you. And that would be what Wee Willy would've been hitting it with, had he not had a pipe concealed in his hand. Also, if he somehow managed to break a legit car window by hitting it with the softest part of his hand and with no pipe, then the glass would've shattered in a much wider pattern and it wouldn't have gotten punctured in the tiny area that it did.

Your laments about 1999-2000 WCW inspired me to do a Journey of Wrestling simulation where i took over WCW in January 2000. You'll be happy to know that it is now September 2000 and NWO 2000 is the most over heel group in wrestling. Scott Steiner took over the group and has held the WCW title for eight months. He just won a feud over a returning Bret Hart. NWO 2000 defeated The Revolution and Bret Hart in a Wargames match where the losing faction had to disband. You'll also be happy to know I am pushing Steven Regal, La Parka, and David Flair to the moon. And just last month, we took the lead again from WWF in the Monday Night Wars.
