The fact that you stated the video at DiFara made me love it immediately. I've known Dom for over 45 years and his pizza is without question the best pizza I've ever had. I go for the sausage, pepper and onion. Add mushrooms to make it a "DiFara Special". Cash only! As for bagels, my place is Ess-a-Bagel on 1st Ave and 20th, but no knock on Absolute. Well done!!

Love that your stomach leads you all over the world! I am the same way. Food teaches you so much about a culture. I am have been to NYC a million times for business and find a way to eat something new and great EVERY TIME. I can't believe I've never had any of your recommendations. I think your bagel suggestion at 4:00 is going to be a MUST. Here is my tip for you for NYC. Go to Bohemian Spirit Restaurant on the Upper East Side and get the Beef Goulash with Horseradish and Potato Pancakes. It will take you right back to Prague.

couldnt agree anymore. as a native new yorker this once great city is overun by these hipsters yuppies or whatever they call themselfs. most of this shit he eats you couldnt give it to me for free. its crazy that almost all of these videos on advised of what to do in nyc are from assholes from butthole nebraska and places like that. i can tell you there are thousand of places in nyc to eat that are great and wont bust your wallet and you dont have to wait all day but i wont because they will invade and fuck it all up.

It’s lost on you. Go eat at the Applebees in Time Square or grab a hot dog. These chefs prepare entrees with the highest level ingredients that are local and fresh and you bitch about it. These hipsters bought and refurbished whole neighborhoods and districts and breathed new life into them. No doubt the food scene is good in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan but would have liked to see him spread it out a little more with something from the Bronx, Harlem, SI and Queens.

As a New Yorker, if Katz’s was your most memorable meal in NYC, I feel bad for you. I really don’t mean that in a nasty way or as a put-down, it’s just that Katz’s is a tourist trap, it’s hasn’t been truly representative of the traditional Jewish deli since at least the 1950s when the area was still heavily Jewish and there’s just so much better (and dare I say, affordable) food in NYC. Come back and eat better

THE best little Italy in NYC. These pizza places in the video are a joke and can’t compare to real NYC pizza joints ✌🏽. None of this screams NEW YORK to me.

Anthony Bourdain is much more knowledgable in food, culture and vocabulary. Bourdain is a lot more poetic and specific to give you an in-depth feel of the experience instead of "the ambience is great".

Fun fact about DiFarro's, the owner insists on making the pizza every day. He doesn't permit anyone else to make it. He comes out to work every single day of the week. Also, Russ's and Daughters shop (not cafe which opened later) has been around since 1914. The ownership has passed down from generation to generation.

This is my first time watching one of your videos and it was very well done. Despite the fact that almost all your picks were in Manhattan and I HATE Manhattan and I hate going there, the presentation was very well done and I enjoyed watching it regardless. I live in Queens and we have so many good places to eat here. I always scoff when people talk about how great Manhattan is or how great the food there is. It's overhyped and overpriced.

And I wonder why I’ve always been a pizza snob. My grandparents house was about 3 blocks down Ave. J from Difara. For me this is the pizza I grew up with as a kid starting at maybe 4-5 years old every spring when we’d come down from Maine to visit. The prices may have risen as the hipsters have made it trendy but it’s still the same pie (the Sicilian was actually my favorite) as it’s always been.
