Just saw this video, a few years after the fact. I live in L.A., and you definitely hit some of the hot spots. I do realize that there's so much here, it's impossible to cover every cuisine. So can we just mention the huge number of Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley? From many difference provinces in China? Some of the best dim sum in the universe. Then there's a big Indian population in L.A., with restaurants in "Little India." You've got Thai Town and Little Ethiopia (injera, anyone?). Little Tokyo and Gardena for amazing, traditional Japanese food. The list goes on and on. Argentinian, Venezuelan, and Salvadoran food. How about food from Nigeria? We've got every ethnicity imaginable, and the restaurants to go along with it. Thank you, Jonathan Gold, for showing us how Los Angeles is one of the best places to eat out in the U.S.

Native Angeleno here, and I say this list is legit. Well done video too! Those crying about their restaurant or food spot not making the cut, there isn't enough time in a KZbin video to cover it all. Also, your palate probably isn't refined enough, so you wouldn't know the difference between good and bad. Additionally, just because a place has existed for 50+ years doesn't make it good. Taco Bell has been around since 1954 ;)

Pink hotdog needs no introduction, right now Hollywood Yamashiro is serving blue luminous ramen, stop by Tao Asian Bistro for a drink and admires the beautiful decor. The one thing many people outside of southern California don't realize is that Los Angeles is a very large place. And more times than not, they (meaning travel shows) only show locations in and about the city part of L.A. Meaning anyplace that is over in and about the San Fernando Valley do not receive the same love. You might consider checking out those areas in a future segment. Oh yeah. Just for your information, Burbank isn't actually a part of Los Angeles. It's an independent city. As are Glendale and City of San Fernando They may be in Los Angeles County, but they aren't a part of the city of Los Angeles. Thought you'd like to know.
@TommyBaldwin6526 жыл бұрын
He mentioned a place in Burbank which is in the San Fernando Valley. Unless I misunderstood your comment. Anyways there are tons of places he missed. If you like soul food then you have to go to . Stevie's on the Strip off of Crenshaw in South Central. They serve some of the best fried chicken rice and gravy I've ever had in my entire life you have to order it like 45 minutes in advance if you want to if you don't want to stay in there forever. Tico's Tacos on Washington Boulevard has a line down the street every single day at lunch time and then there's a pastrami place right next to it Jack's I believe it's called Jacks pastrami best pastrami on the planet with their homemade kosher dill pickles, oh my God. He made a very good list he made but he needs to get off that hipster list like he was saying and go out there and eat what the locals eat. King burrito in Los Feliz where the burrito stand started. I could go on forever but won't .. one more. On La Cienega in Beverly Hills, "Lowery's" prime rib is to die for. Probably the best prime rib ever made. I go there at least twice a year.

Anthony B what so good about this dive? Everything is food service quality. They have more can openers there than chef knives. There’s nothing here you can’t get at any other second rate diner. Patronized mostly by out of towners who look like they wouldn’t know the difference between a ribeye or a round steak.

A lot of these places are on bus or train lines. The other day, I thought I would save time on a Lyft instead of Metro from Mid-City to Union Station, but it took only 10 minutes less than going by bus and subway.

If you're ever in Los Angeles again, you HAVE to stop at Edoughble Sweet Shop on South Robertson Boulevard! The edible cookie dough there is absolutely incredible, and the employees are super kind. Six out of five stars!
