Although I believe the gentleman enjoyed playing with his wall a little too much I thought he had some great design ideas. I also appreciated the skill level of who ever installed the tile in the bathroom. Getting the grout lines so perfect the storage cabinets seemed to disappear, I couldn't even tell they were there until he opened them. So many great ideas in this living space.

that style of tile comes in rolls, and is glued down. Man could you imagine have to lay each individual 1 inch tile down by hand?

Yep sheet form as already said but can also come as a board that doesn't even require grouting. More a 'lamipanel' product. You'd certainly see the join lines however if looking straight at the wall. It was certainly filmed from the angle to give the impression the joins couldn't be seen but as with any closing panel, joins aren't seen if filmed from the angle they can't be seen!

Now this is a man who can design cabinetry to be utilized for a sailboat, and yes, I noticed he's fond of that sliding door! He and my father, a retired cabinet designer could tie up an entire weekend talking about space, wood and hardware --- very nice Sir.

What a perfect marriage between the austeer dark wood of the interiors of the cabinets and bedroom, that reminds me of european 50's furniture (i love that!) and the stark white modern exterior that bounces and reflects the precious few rays of light from the tiny windows. So deculuttered and so beautiful (although white is totally not my color) I would move into that space, as is, right this second and never regret it. Woooow... Yeah... well done! Omg, that hight adjustable table. I have a kid in a candy shop feeling.

As a NYC real estate agent (with minimalist longings) I really loved this video. What an amazing space they have created. And to his point that real estate prices in NYC can be prohibitive, it behooves people to become creative with their spaces. But I liked what he said about being conscious about the environment and should really try to have smaller spaces.

My favourite kirstendirksen production yet! I'd love to have a home like that. It's great to see people pioneering all of this stuff before it's mainstream. It took a nautical designer, and he glued the tiles himself, and came from a family of cabinet makers... so he starts with a a but more than skill saw and carpet knife. But a wonderfully designed space through and through. He does like his wall, and the blend from walnut to white transformation is quite elegant. Well done.

That's a really awesome design for a small apartment! It seems so much bigger and like they have just enough space for everything! I love all the closet and storage space and it looks like every space seems to be used really well. I think the wall is a good idea for separating the bedroom if they want to. I don't usually like white or walnut coloured anything but I think the colours go with the modern look as well. I wouldn't mind living in a space like that!

Same with most things he went through, Just showing off the same points over and over. Great concepts, but the whole video could easily have been done in 3-5 minutes. I just love the apartment. I live in Tokyo and almost like living in Manhattan...the rent is crazy. They should do this in Tokyo, people would love it. I would buy the space like this for sure. Space is so limited in the heart of Tokyo, yet I am not commuting just to get a bigger space. I can totally live there. Also getting the bigger space means more chores and cost of maintaining a bigger space (not to mention property tax!!) Such a pain for cleaning bigger space! I just love this!!!
