There's something truly poetic about not selling his pieces. The beauty of Bob was not the works themselves, it was how he encouraged everyone to tap into their creative sides. If Bob was alive today, I think he'd say something like "Don't hang my pieces on your wall. Instead, paint your own version of paradise and proudly display that." We live in an era of egotism and cash grabs where people pay hundreds of thousands for an FP Journe watch just so they can "flex" on others for the right to say that they own something that others do not. I think it's beautiful that these people aren't even willing to reduce Bob's legacy to a dollar amount.

I watched this 2 years ago & thought something was off because I wondered why Bobs son had no part in this. Funny how the Kawolskis act like theyre so innocent and care about Bob & his paintings by introducing themselves through this as these great friends of Bob but its was all to PROTECT THEIR IMAGE. They didn't even attend his funeral, and tried to keep his death a secret to rake in MILLIONS and still do to this day. This is not what he would have wanted. The Kawolskis robbed the ROSS family, and the JENKINS of so much. Bob would not have wanted this at all and these greedy people are in it for the money. Bobs passion was to teach people and spread art and joy. Seeing them talking so highly of Bob with a smirk and a laugh all while knowing Bob is looking down seeing they went against his word, ruined so many lives and destroyed so much is actually the most dark and twisted thing i've seen in a while. They were never Bobs friend, and there is so much injustice to one of the most iconic and famous painters in recent times. Money cant buy a good soul & heart of gold, thats what Bob had that was so special and its ironic that the family that aggressively fought with evil and greedy intentions to own his name is the opposite of that. I am truly horrified. WATCH THE NEW NETFLIX DOC, STOP SUPPORTING BOB ROSS INC. & START DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR THE ROSS FAMILY AND THE JENKINS.

@@2410jrodI got you point don't but I don't feel like it's their responsibility, or the way to preserve his interests: they lose his art and the people who buy the paintings do it for showing off, they don't understand the simplicity of appreciating the painting the way Bob would, displaying his work is sufficient and ideal, but if they had the gesture of supporting other institutions, the correct way is through a museum, because they could donate part of their profits, keep the paintings and divulge his work to everyone
@2410jrod4 жыл бұрын
Evelyn Sand I agree but the Kowalski family owns every single painting from the show and all together there are roughly I think 5000 paintings. I don’t think you could make a museum with all of just one artist especially with about 3 paintings per show it would get redundant. It would not hurt to show a little charity. They can make provisions that the art cannot be sold, given, or gain any profit from it. Who knows ?it can inspire children and adults to start painting and get more of his supplies from their business.

The nice thing about Bob Ross paintings is he always used oil pants which generally continue to dry as time progresses. So as long as they are somewhat stored in a condition where the paint won't chip easily, they should be alright. I personally feel the Bob Ross Corporation should someday open up a Bob Ross museum showcasing the paintings and potentially the steps in between if they managed to save some unfinished pieces. It wouldn't be selling his pieces, but showing them off which I don't think Bob wouldn't mind. Perhaps if they charge admission, some of the proceeds could go to a charity in his name. However, it would be up to the corporation to figure that out.

The paintings themselves are not as important as the lessons he taught many aspiring artists how to paint. The paintings themselves have many replications of his paintings as they where all educational pieces rather than done to sell to the highest bidder. Unless you are super rich and want to do an investment and tax avoidance scam which most expensive art basically is some are a permanent part of a museum now that is all that is necessary to fulfil his legacy of the physical art and all his footage has been well archived to hopefully be seen by future generations who want to learn about art.

I dislike that they say Annette “discovered” Bob Ross. They stole his name and image from his family while he was on his deathbed! Go watch the Netflix documentary and boycott Bob Ross Inc! Justice for Bob Ross and Steve Ross (his son)!

With these thousands of paintings and three versions each, they could have a collection for touring museums in the US, and they could still sell a fair few. That way, they could set up a foundation to save all the happy trees and rivers and bushes. 😊
@canadianperspective37315 жыл бұрын
Masha Great idea, better than what I was thinking. I think Bob might have been in favour of auctioning a few off for children’s charities or to promote the arts to school age kids.
@purplesomething34423 жыл бұрын
I'm doubtful they never considered selling those paintings considering the Kowalski's mentality on profiting off of Bob's name and image.
