Can you Woodturn Beer Caps, Crown Caps? - Dangerous but lets find out !!
This is dangerous so please don't try this at home. I will attempt to turn these beer bottle caps and crown caps on the lathe, after we have sunk them into epoxy resin for a few days. This will be very interesting to see as i have no idea what is going to happen to this! Stand By.....

not a leak, there was too much air under the caps, should've used a vacuum chamber. Also why dont you have a round container? PVC pipe, cut in half, screw brackets to hold it together, fill, its round, less work.

Bud is defintely American and the Labatt Blue is Canadian, the rest I have not idea about as I am from Germany😂I was actually expecting metal shrapnel zapping through the workshop which luckily didn't happen. And I must say the end product is definitely worth it - it's super funky, I love it 😍Just gotta be careful with the cover - easy to cut your fingers but hey, who cares 🤣Stay crazy and have a nice weekend everybody!

Corona is a Mexican beer and I like that one a bunch! A twist of lime makes it perfect. Did not drink the water on my many trips to Mexico but I sure did drink beer. Mexico, Central American, and Caribbean island nations all have some excellent beers. Also, water isn’t bad in most of these places but it has different “stuff” floating in there than what one is used to and therefore can upset the tummy.

The Labatt’s blue is a Canadian beer. It’s one of my dads old faves from when he could still drink (health issues have made it unsafe for him to have alcohol) but I now can enjoy it for him ;) in fact he makes his own beer using kits and I again get to enjoy the drinks made . It’s fun. Few months back we even made wine .

Lousiana girl here, Red Dog beer is an old staple in the south. That was bad ass my friend, nail biting to the very end. Nascar driver Rusty Wallace drove for them, my mom got to meet him when she raced mini grand prix.

That turned out awesome! It would look great sitting on a bar in someone's mancave. On a technical note, seems like 5 minute epoxy would be a better choice for gluing the blank to the base, especially when it is tricky to support the other end. It takes a little longer to completely cure, but I was thinking you were putting a lot of faith in that hot glue.

The beers that I’m familiar with are Bud Light, Budweiser, Coors Light, Corona, Samuel Adams, and Yuengling off the top of my head. Anyway, did you actually go on a trip to Spain for a week? If so, you should’ve made a video tour and uploaded it to this channel!

Most of them are sold here in Canada (some are not made here} but the black cap that says Mikes is actually not a beer, it's a sweet fizzy alcohol drink called Mike's hard lemonade. Corona is from Mexico, Mikes and Budweiser are definitely from USA, the Maple Leaf labels are probably Canadian. The resin dish came out cool. I like the inside view. My favorite spots are where the the top of a cap is gone and you look through the ring of what's left. Nick, that 5 minute epoxy you use to attach your emblem is what you should use to attach your work to your scrap box. Ben over at BensWorx marks up the bottom of this work with a screwdriver to get a surface that will hold, then uses the 5 minute epoxy to hold it down to the scrap block.

I think it's Sprague Woodturning? who takes a bunch of hot glue sticks, melts them in a hot plate, and just has a pan full of hot glue that he just dips the project into to stick it down. The benefits of hot glue being easy to remove, either with a little heat, or a scraper dipped in acetone as Peter Brown does it, as well as not needing to mix it, and technically reusable, all while being very very strong like 5 minute epoxy is. More of a quantity > quality thing there lol, but I think more makers should do that, seems to work out for him

I also had an idea… now this comes from someone who has N E V E R created ANYTHING with resin… Here goes… Could you let the resin set a LITTLE, then poke an eye dropper or syringe with COLORED resin and gently squeeze the color in creating a cloud or squiggly line of color?? Please use epoxy to glue your project to the spindle- hot glue isn't able to create the bond you're looking for, especially while turning! Other than that- WHAT A GLORIOUS PROJECT! Outstanding craftsmanship 🤙

The first cap you picked up, Labatt’s Blue, is Canadian 🇨🇦 (and a nice, basic Pilsner-style lager 🍺) The red bulldog cap is from Red Dog beer (owned and brewed by Miller according to the Google) and is a lager style beer. I remember drinking it, in the 90s. That’s an old cap Sir. Unless it’s become available again?

Hey Nick... The Mike's is Mike's Hard Lemonade, basically lemonade with alcohol in it... The cap with the bulldog, might be a local or regional beer from the University of Georgia, their mascot is the bulldog, a lot of local breweries make these to help support the team, the red and gold cap looks like Miller High Life, a brew that's been around a long time... hope this helps a little... A couple of beer IDs -- the red dog is called Red Dog. Mike's is a brand that makes alcohol-infused lemonade (called Hard Lemonade). Blue is a Canadian from Labat. Gold top with red seal is Miller High Life (American). Of course you have Budweiser, and also Bud Light (blue) and Bud Light Orange (Bud Lite beer infused with orange flavoring). And the reason you are having problems with the caps is because glass bottles in the US are capped with steel caps - aluminum bottles have aluminum caps.

Loved the turning, it came out just awesome Bottle caps are all from USA with the exception of Lebatt Blue which comes from Canada and Corona from Mexico. I could see several Budweiser and Bud Light caps. Miller High Life, also called the champagne of beers. The red cap with the bird is Smirnoff Ice, a malt liquor. Also saw Mike’s Hard lemonade. Also saw a Pepsi Cola cap. Twisted Tea, a hard ice tea.

The Red Bull Dog bottle cap is from Red Dog is a beer produced by the Miller Brewing Company and is part of their Plank Road Brewery Family. The beer contains 4.8% alcohol by volume

Hi Nick, your video's help me unwind. Mainly because of your banter and yes i like to see what your creative inner genius makes from the simplest things. Now, i saw Bens worx i believe it was, casting resin on a strawberry and a grape. It worked out well i think. I think you can do this much better, with starfruit, pineapple, rambutan, lychee. Just a couple of very decorative textures. Maybe i just put a bad idea in your head but i'd certainly like to see what happens. Labatts Blue is Canadian. Budweiser, Bud light (and the flavored Bud light crap), and all the Miller beers are American and not very good. The one with the red dog, I believe is just called "Red Dog" and was absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure they make it anymore. I hope they don't. None of the beers those came from are very good.

So funny. Madd Dog. The Red Bull Dog. I just turned 40 and I haven't drank or seen that sense we stole box's of them from the train yard out of box trucks. My friends bedrooms were filled with Madd Dog and Ice House. Both pretty gross Brewskies. I wish i had one of them caps to make a magnet. Great to watch you make a mess, always a pleasure.
