Thanks for adding all of these videos. This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It's been a great trip down 80's memory lane watching these.

It's even better in person. He and his agent sat next to us at Cafe Des Artists one lunch. So very nice. The smile was amazing.

This was without a doubt the most irresponsble thing Maddie could ever do... I was heavily disappointed that she did this when I watching the show back in the 80's. My heart just broke for David.

16 years later from this comment and I’m experiencing the same disappointment anew. Almost makes me wish I hadn’t revisited the series because I didn’t realize as a kid how nonsensical they made Maddie’s character. In earlier seasons when they made her jealous of David’s brief indiscretions, I didn’t fathom how indecisive and cruel they would make her later on. My heart breaks for David. It’s all based on Taming of the Shrew so I don’t understand why they just couldn’t let Maddie soften like Kate and let the viewers say goodbye with a happy ending. I truly believe it might have done another good season (5) if the viewers had been allowed some romantic payoff instead of the platonic rancor they endured. That’s what killed the chemistry, not the initial consummation.

There were a lot of things that killed the show, but this was the end for me. Cybill Shepherd argued with the writers on this storyline, saying her character would never do this, and she was absolutely correct. Maddie was very calculated and would never have done something so irresponsible, especially with David waiting for her. From the end of the third season, when David and Maddie finally hooked up, to this scene was only 10 episodes, but between Willis shooting Diehard to Shepherd having twins, neither were spending much time on the set and this storyline just was the final nail in the coffin. Ratings absolutely plummeted after this and never recovered.

Why is Bruce Willis so very handsome ? I'm falling in love to him

At the time the viewing public was floored! Later she gets the marriage annulled! Due to public outcry. It made no sense. She loved David and kept running away from it.

Maddie hurt David really something awful.....Shes so cold too him here....And she told him the baby wasnt his.....And it was his the whole time....She married that boring walter.....Because she did that out of spite.....The show might have not been cancelled!!If the writers hadn't ruined maddie&David relationship.....

Dawn Hopkins yes she was a selfish heifer no heiffa .. she didn’t adore David like she should have.. she didn’t think he was good enough to fit in her pretentious world.. he was the real deal Maddie and you blew it!! He loved you despite your snotty snob outlook..

The writers were so wrong to make this four month separation and marriage part of their story. Maddie was awful to do that.

God, I hate Maddie for doing that to David. It just makes no sense!!! I watched this show as a kid, and could not remember how the show ended.... I think I must have stopped watching at this point when Maddie stabbed David in the back like this. AIIIEEEEEE.

The writing was brilliant on this show, until the writers strike happened and it went way downhill fast! They royally screwed up the characters of David & Maddie and with this lousy writing, they screwed the fans and the fans quit watching in droves! So disappointing! I HATED this storyline and the ending SUCKED!

Whew - this show hits different once you grow up and understand what heartbreak feels like. I remember this show when I was in grade school, I couldn’t watch it b/c it was too “grown up” but my friends could and they all talked about it 🤨 I can’t believe Maddie did this. I don’t know if the technology existed back then, but she literally slept w/Sam and David days apart - how could she be sure it wasn’t his?? This was so heartbreaking for David. I’m sure there were tons of women who hated Maddie b/c they would’ve killed for a man like David. I can’t stand her now.

I actually think this storyline makes sense. Maddie is afraid of David’s impulsiveness so she blocks it with her own impulsive act. I just wish there was a full season 5 and a whole season 6. They sorta drop in season 5 that Maddie might be bisexual, David’s brother could have become a regular character. Final season had some really beautiful moments.

The worst part is that this was all foreshadowed in Season 3 when Maddie criticized MacGillicudy's spontaneity for marrying a woman he knew in less than three days. Not that Maddie's not allowed to be spontaneous, but this was very irresponsible on her part and WAY out of character. She even said in the previous season that she doesn't give herself to people; she has to think about it, consider, contemplate, etc. She obviously did none of those things in Vegas.
