I think in terms of items in games like BSR the best are always ones that can reduce variance. For that reason I have booze as my third item I like seeing (magnifying glass, handcuff, booze, saw and cigs are my rankings) and I only rank it so low because he need for multiples like you mentioned. I was gonna start making buckshot roulette videos but I didn't want to show off my horrific video editing and to have people say I'm copying you but I still enjoy it non the less

ok so i ran the maths - you have to double successfully 14 times in order to get 1 billion or more IF you get a total of at least $61,036 after round one; otherwise you need to double 15 times. this means you have to get thru 15 gauntlets/45 rounds or 16 gauntlets/48 rounds in total if you get $61035 or less. edit - i originally thought it wouldn't make a difference but i was actually calculating how quick you'd get to 100M not 1B lol

If my understanding is right, on 2 blanks, it doesn't matter since he knows the last one is blank. If it's 3 blanks left (or somehow you got 4-4 and have 4 blanks left), the dealer can waste some of his items so you would shoot him instead of yourself.

What You'll Need 8 Life Tokens 2 Four-sided Dice (d4) 9 Six-sided Dice (d6) 1 Eight-sided Dice (d8) 16 Ten-sided Dice (d10) How to Play The game is split into three rounds. At the Start of Each Round Have each player remove all of their item dice from the previous round, without the items taking effect (more on items later). Also remove any lingering effects from items. Assign one d6 to starting health, one d4 to player one's item gain, and one d4 to player two's item gain; and roll all of them. The number rolled on the starting health dice determines the starting health for both players (1-2 is 2 health, 3-4 is 3 health, and 5-6 is 4 health), and so each player gets that many life tokens. The number rolled on the item gain dice is how many d10 the player rolls and puts on their side. A player can have no more than eight items at a time. If a player's roll on the item gain dice would have them gain a total of more than eight items, they only gain as many items as would put them up to eight (for example: a player has six items, and a 3 is rolled on their item gain dice. The player would only gain two items, as getting three would put them above eight). Roll all eight other d6. These will determine the shells in the shotgun. A 5-6 is a "live" shell, a 3-4 is a "blank" shell, and a 1-2 is no shell. Remove all "no shells," and assign each of the remaining dice a number 1-8 with no overlapping numbers. Playing the Game Turn order alternates between players, starting with player one. On a player's turn, they can either use items, shoot themselves, or shoot the other player. When they use an item, the item gets removed and its effect takes place. If an item's effect contradicts a ruling elsewhere, always follow the item's effect. If the player makes a shot, either towards themselves or the opposing player, the shell is determined after the shot is made. If they choose to shoot themselves and the shot is a blank shell, their turn doesn't end, and they can use more items if they have any remaining or decide again between shooting themselves and the other player. If they choose to shoot themselves and the shot is a live shell, they remove one of their life tokens and play passes to the other player. If they choose to shoot the opposing player, play passes to the other player regardless of which shell gets fired, and the other player removes one of their life tokens only if it was a live shell. When a player is reduced to zero life tokens, the player with remaining life tokens wins the round, and a new round begins, following the same procedure from "At the Start of Each Round". A player wins the game if they win two out of the three rounds. Determining the Shell After the player whose turn it currently is decides to shoot either themselves or the opposing player, roll a d8. If the number rolled corresponds to a shell within the shotgun, remove that shell from the shotgun and play it as either a live shell or a blank shell, per the rules above. Else, reroll the d8 until it rolls a number corresponding to a shell within the shotgun. As the number of shells decrease, one can lower the size of the dice and correspondingly reorder the numbers matching each shell. At six shells, one can use a d6 and numbers 1-6; at four shells, one can use a d4 and numbers 1-4; and at two shells, one can use a coin and assign each heads or tails. It is not necessary to roll when only one shell is within the shotgun. Carry-over Rounds When all shells are removed from the shotgun and both players have at least one life token, a special sub-round passes called a carry-over round. The start of a carry-over round is just like the start of a regular round, except the players do not discard items, or reset their life tokens. For example, if a player enters a carry-over round with three items and one life token, they start the carry-over round with those same three items and one life token, plus however many items they draw. It is possible to go from a carry-over round into another carry-over round, if the criteria listed at the beginning of this paragraph are met. When a player is reduced to zero life tokens, a new regular round begins, following the same procedure from "At the Start of Each Round". Items Items are determined by the number rolled on their corresponding d10. You can use multiple of the same item in a round, unless specified in the item's description. - 1-2, cigarettes: upon removing, you regain 1 life token, up to a maximum of 4. - 3-4, handcuffs: upon removing, the opposing player's next turn is skipped. You cannot play handcuffs multiple times in a turn, or the turn immediately after the opposing player's skipped turn. - 5-6, beer: upon removing, follow the procedure from "Determining the Shell", except before deciding whether to shoot yourself or the opposing player. When a shell is determined, remove it from the shotgun as if it were a "no shell" (this does not progress turn order). - 7-8, magnifying glass: upon removing, follow the procedure from "Determining the Shell", except before deciding whether to shoot yourself or the other player. The shell that gets determined here will either be the next shell fired (either at yourself or the opposing player, following the rules above), or the one that gets removed if you use a beer. - 9-10, hacksaw: upon removing, if the next shell fired is a live shell, it instead removes 2 life tokens. If the next shell fired is a blank, there is no effect. You cannot use a hacksaw immediately after another hacksaw, except if there is a shot fired between the two.

Yup, you're right. In endless mode the possible starting ratios of live to blanks is 1:1, 1:2, 2:2, 2:3, 3:3, 3:4, and 4:4

I strongly disagree with smokes being the worst item. I would say in fact they are the best one for the player. Unless two damage is 2 damage is dealt on a 2 health round before the other can react. they are guaranteed value. This is especially good for the player who since they extend the round which works against the dealer.
