If you want to live in a giant HOA you should consider Farragut.

What kind of parks and recreational stuff does oak ridge have? Im originally from Tennessee and looking to settle back down. Is it more of a small town or a suburb feel ie like Paris tn or more like Jackson tn?

Originally I'm from oliver springs. I moved to oak ridge in 2012. I was an employee at the local walmart. This past summer, me, my wife, our roommate, and family lost our duplex and we relocated to campbell county. The area offers far less than oak ridge does. One of my favorite things to do was rent the local studio for photo shoots. Currently. We're tryong to save up money for a place to live. Where we had our own housing. We got multiple pets used to have 4 dogs, 2 cats. As of now, we're down to 3 dogs and 2 cats. Once we're ready to once again get a place, more than likely, we're going to look for rental property with hopes that the landlord will work with us with having pets.

I did an extended visit to Oak Ridge this past summer, and I'd disagree there's limited shopping or places to eat. It's not Knoxville, but there are lots of places down near the theatre, Dick's, and that whole area along Illinois Ave. I went out to the Preserve, and the biggest con I saw was that while it's 5 min outside Kingston, it's about 20 min drive back into Oak Ridge on the turnpike. They're also supposed to be building a business airport across the river from the Preserve, not sure what noise will be like. But yes, from what I saw in general, housing is limited, esp if you want a new / newer place in OR.

They have building a general aviation airport for the last 50 years. Don't count on it.

How dog friendly is this community - like walking dogs on the trails, taking your dog boating or kayaking, etc?
@livingintennesseeteam7 ай бұрын
I would say it's very dog fiendly as long as it's a well behaved dog.

Oak Ridge looks like a place where parking lots and strip malls trump true public spaces.
