my father would always play this song in the car while we were driving. i used to call it “the longest song in the whole world”. i would say that line and he would play it. unfortunately, he died when i was nine years old. when he died my world was quite for a bit. but i’ve always found myself re-finding this song in different parts in my life when i need it most. i’m nineteen now, a whole decade later and i think he’s talking to me when i listen to it now. “someday you will find me, caught beneath the landslide in a champagne supernova in the sky” in some weird way, i think of this as some full circle moment, almost like he was preparing me , knowing i’d always have this song. i love you dad. thank you for always guiding me back to this song.

This -finding comfort in a perfect rock song- it's perfection. Thank God we can just relate to feelings like that, all chained to just a single song. It is powerful feeling, produced by art. When my children ask me why I always play rock in the car, I can't express this kind of feelings. I'm just too narrow. But some living experiences like yours my friend allow me to put into words these kind of questions. Thank you, and I really hope you and your son can reunite again, someday. Hey dude. I so much agree. About ten years ago I was having a bad day - family issues, self-analysis and all that crap. I got in my motor and drove 30 miles around the countryside with Oasis blaring on the CD. I pulled in when this song came on, I turned up the sound, sat back with my hands behind my head and just drowned in it. From that day this has been my favourite Oasis song. it is indeed of the highest order, and I hate picking favourites too because all their songs are top drawer. But from that moment, something about Champagne super will resonate with me forever. Different gravy.

Demons are sometimes hard to battle with. Only the more sensible people have difficulties in dealing with life. Life, on the other hand, is a mortal disease. It's joy, but it's also sadness. Sometimes it's better to burn out than to fade away. A big hug. Don't hate your dad, I didn't know him, but life is tough. I drink and smoke, I don't have any particular problem, honestly I have a better life than most of mankind, but still I can't stand life. There's an overwhelming shade of sadness in it, it's in its nature, and sometimes you can't cope with it. Again, a big hug.

He drank way too excessive than a normal person should like when he woke up and went to sleep. Barely ate anymore. @jennasalzan18086 жыл бұрын
This song sounds so distant to me because I recognized it instantly but yet I have no memory of ever hearing it before. I love feeling that when it comes to music for some reason. I found this song last night and I’m here again today. This song causes me to slow down. Over the course of my youth thus far (I’m 17), I’ve become very appreciate of my life and much more self-aware about what life really has to offer and how I can make my own existence meaningful to myself. I graduate in about three months and while I am sort of melancholy that I didn’t appreciate my freshman and sophomore years of high school that much, I’m here now. I’ve found great music, I take care of myself, i do what I want, and I’m just cruising through while also being present as best I can. And this song really sums all that up for me. Life doesn’t pass by in the blink of an eye unless you let it. Write about your adventures, struggles, and even your boredom. Reading back on these things really causes you to slow down and put yourself back in the mindset for a second. The past and the future are just concepts. The present is what we got and I’m really happy to know that now. I’m going on an extreme tangent here but I like to pour out my thoughts like this because who knows, in years time, i could stumble upon this comment again when nostalgia creeps up on me. But for now, I’m here and I’m living so I’m pretty happy about that

You're wise beyond your years, dude. And welcome to these, the greatest songs of all time. This song meant so much to us too and i remember the first time i heard it the year it came out. I was around your age and every bit as entranced by it's ability to provoke thought and enlighten our perspectives. I remember back then thinking if i ever had a kid, I'm gonna sit him down and play this song. And explain to him that music reaches very profound levels of depth and insighfulness. Well. I never had any. So I'm glad to see the youth not just embracing this kind of music, but truly pouring through the lyrics and reflecting on their resonance. I raise my glass to you. And i was happy to read your comment. Carry that torch man. It belongs to you now.

i was a huge oasis fan back in high school (6/7 years ago). im about to graduate college now in a few months and listening to the songs that i used to love brings back so many good memories. it reminds me of how i felt, who i had crushes on, what my dreams were, etc... definitely good to take a step back and really appreciate the everyday moments in life. songs like this take me back..

I remember being around 13 years old when this album first came out. I was flipping through the channel and I landed on MTV in the middle of this video and was absolutely spellbound. I had no idea who they were or what the song was but I was riveted. When it was over I was just dumbfounded. I spent the next few days watching MTV for hours trying to see if they would play it again. When they did it was glorious. I remembered the name and went out with my parents and bought the album. It's still one of the greatest albums of all time. I'll always love this gloriously epic song even after all these years.

this makes me feel sad because I wasn't alive during the Oasis period. I always feel like that was the best time to be on earth but I'm glad this music is everlasting and I can listen to it even now

With bands like Of Monsters And Men still around, I can confidently say that truly brilliant music is still being made in the modern world. Throughout history, there has been genius appearing in music, and that will never change. In this internet-fueled world, anyone who is willing to dig for good music will find it. Some of it is new, some not so much. The longer you get to spend in the world, and the later you join the party, the more truly amazing music you get to have in your life. Don't envy the past, look forward to the future.

Siobhán Keane I actually discovered this song from the Onerepublic version. They're great band and all, but the Oasis version is more raw. Oasis is really underrated
