OBD2 communication wiring and setup to link ecu

The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. Brilliant video Kevin. I have just installed a Link G4X ECU on my 1998 MR2 Turbo and have since found out that the G4X doesn't support ODB2. My car never came with one so I'm looking to wire one into my Can. Would I just use the ECU to ODB-11 Port Wiring diagram and if so where would I put the resistors? Thanks

Hello, i have question. I have a 2010 ibiza seat, i just bought an android stereo with a canbus. The stereo came with an app that reads the car's ecu (shows me the cars RPM, miles and speed). My question is, can i somehow use either torque or realdash to show me the cars info without using the bluetooth adapter? Thank you.

Look in the link help file is best. Normal can wiring terminating resistor procedures apply with 120k resistor between can wires at each end of the bus.

what oil pressure sensor are you using sir? and what is the range since I believe Link ecu have a requirement for oil pressure sensor

I generally use a bosch pressure / temp combo sensor however there are heaps of options so often Ill use a 10 bar honeywell or similar. Provided the calibration is known many will work, like most other aftermarket ecus.

Kelvin, to what extent can you pull data? In the 'States vehicle inspection is done via the OBD2 plug...

I have been told the stream is suitable for testing in USA however I think the ecu would require an oxygen sensor to be wired in , often I prefer using a can lambda unit which should be fine for that. For the other tested Im not sure what is required as they arent required here but that would be a great thing to find out , as it might be a great option for guys in the USA and UK to pass their required tests. Next time I wire one up Ill try to go over the data stream and make a video.

Hi sir i want to ask a question, what will happen to a car if power from pin 16 goes strait in to the pin 5 ground signal

It would most likely blow the obd2 fuse

@@CartuneNZ well i accidentally conected it wrongly in to my car because i wired the diagnostic tool wrongly and pluged it in to the car and car died, is there a chance that it can drain the battery very fast from my mistake because the battery shows 11,80 v car wont even crank now not even clicking from the startet only some relay in fuse box clicks on sertan interval it shows all sort of erors but most importantly no comunication with ECU with the diagnostic tool now, if the ground signal pin 5 (electical earth) is conected to the ECU i am afraid that some magical smoke happaned in the ECU it self and some resistor or other component payed the role as a fuse
