The book is based on a true story, but the only connection this game has to the book is the title and the main character. That said, apparently the swearing is actually TONED DOWN from how much profanity Dick Marcinko uses IRL. Made doubly funny by the fact that he sounds nothing like Mickey Rourke at all. Look up a video of him speaking - he sounds like your Boomer uncle who always shows up with three coolers of Coors to every family gathering.

Fun facts: Rebelion Derby, the people who have developed this game, also developed Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, an equally horrible first person shooter. Academy award winner, Mickey Rourke voiced the main character, Richard Marcinko, in this game. Yes, I'am not joking at all. He actually voice acted in this game. Rogue Warrior was supposed to be a tactical third person shooter developed by Zombie Studios, most well known for the Spec Ops games. It was supposed to be published by Bethesda Softworks but it soon got canned and got replaced by *this* masterpiece.
