Finally a method to get virtual cables and Zoom to play nice together! We gave up on virtual cables because of sync issues. This is the fix!

Yep, this one worked. Tried a bunch of garbage to finally get these 2 connected. Reminded me of the old, old days with how much manual work was involved. . . Sync isn't perfect yet but getting there. Wish the visual on Zoom and the actual thing other participants see/hear was the same!

I thoroughly enjoy your videos, Enrico - the information has been very helpful! I especially appreciate the positive vibe I get from your gentle enthusiasm. Every time I get to the point where I want to throw my video camera and microphone out the window, I just watch a few minutes of your can-do spirit and it gets me back in the right frame of mind. You are a gifted communicator. I had originally posted a comment with some issues of video freezing and mic dropouts - but it turns out that my "upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 left a lot of my USB controller device drivers "partially migrated." Interestingly, Device Manager does not flag these. But reading the events tabs of the various devices revealed the problem. Once I wiped everything and reinstalled Windows 10 again, everything seems to have resolved nicely.

This worked well to fix my sync issue. Sound distortion was a separate issue. For that I had to set the VB Cable (default 44 Khz) to 48 Khz in Sound Settings to match the 48 Khz sample rate in OBS

Great video if you were using other audio filters would you add the audio monitor filter at the end of the filters?

Hey, I'm not getting the option of Audio Monitor in filters which you are selecting at 1:45 . I have tried reinstalling the plugin, restarting OBS several times but it didn't work. What to do? Thanks.

Hi, that’s strange. Can you confirm you downloaded the audio monitor plugin, then run the installation, restart obs (maybe restart the computer too), then add your mic as source, then go to filters, click on + and there you should see audio monitor

@@EnricoZamparo Yes, I did download and ran the installation. ONE thing I have realized is that during installation both OBS Studio and Audio monitor plugin has same folder names "obs-studio". So i think either it is merging or replacing the main obs studio files. AND I have tried installing it in different folder at the very first time for the above reason but that did not work too. Is there something which i'm missing. Thanks.

It does not let me do anything, everything is greyed out. AND when I manually install them in different folders/locations, it runs but I don't see any Audio Monitor in filters of my mic. Hi. I have tried to figure out what the issue may be but without success for the moment. You may also want to post your question on reddit. There is an obs forum that may help you. I will keep digging... Have you tried the good old method of uninstalling obs and audio plugin and then installing it again? If you want to save your scenes you can export them and then re-import the file after the new installation

I have used VoiceMeeter to add delay, but sometimes it stops working. I don’t really understand why OBS or the Audio Plug In can’t simply produce a virtual mic that Zoom can see. OBS is able to produce Virtual Camera so why not virtual mic.

Indeed it's strange that there is no integrated "virtual microphone" in OBS, but I don't know the technicalities behind it. I think that the audio monitor plugin with VB audio cable works pretty well though
