Lost my Mom when I was 11 but gained a stepMom when I was 13 - I'm now 46 with 2 children of my own that my stepMom is Nana to, and this scene is perfect. I love both my Moms. So I was not threatened when my ex-husband remarried a wonderful woman who treats my children as if they were her own. She can't replace me, and I could never replace her - and my children are better for it.

Stepmom is one of those movies that no matter what time it is, afterward, I have to call my mom. This scene and when the little boy says "No one loves you like I do." Breaks my heart every time. Beautifully acted film.

what is worse i'll hate her if u want me to ,, the fierce love & loyalty that they have for JACKIE
@rosek10214 жыл бұрын
"My fear is that she'll be thinking, I wish my mom was here." "And mine is that she won't." That dialogue gets me every single time. How can you not choke up at something like that? I could really sense Jackie's fear that her daughter would eventually forget about her...a terrifying thought for a mother who knows she will not be around to see her kids grow up. This was really a great movie.

My mom was very sick when I got married. But for a few hours, she smiled, and was extremely happy, even though she was in a lot of pain. I am so blessed and thankful that my mom saw me get married. I'm so lucky that I had a wonderful mom like her..

I loved the quilt she made for her daughter and it had the pictures of their lives together and the cloth was from clothes she had worn. It had so much meaning. A wonderful keepsake to remember her mother.

Always hold your mother close as possible and cherish every moment. I saw this in 1998 after my mom died in 1996 I still miss her and I remember how she told me to always remember her and keep her alive in spirt. Even though I was adopted and had a loving family afterword no one can fill that place of my mom. I miss her everyday and its a loss that never goes away.

I used to be jealous of the step mothers relationship......now i am thankful for it because she has a friend and mentor who loves her and my son as her own. That is a precious privilege for both of Us. Thank you, Sharon, for loving my children as your own. Their futures are tomorrow and i will be there with them along the way.

This is my favorite movie in the world. This movie was made before my youngest was born and died from cancer 2004 at age 22 months. I knew the value of life and a that it was not the quantity but the quality of the years.

Susan Sarandon is a dying mother in this movie and then Julia Roberts in a movie playing a dying spider, so for both of them in this movie they were both spiders, Susan Sarandon is miss spider from james and the giant peach (1996) and Julia Roberts is Charlotte from Charlotte's Web (2006), only susan sarandon was in the one based on Ronald Dahl and julia roberts was in the one based on E.B. White so when I look at them in this movie make me think to tell they were those spiders based on those two book by Ronald Dahl and E.B. White, feel emotional in this movie something was killing sarandon not like roberts was voice act was, but they were both spiders who have alots of string spins their web

Boy! There is much to learn from that ending scene, specially for those that are struggling with parents that have moved on and are remarried, etc. In the end its the child that is left in the middle of feuding people. Its made into a competition rather than having two unique individuals loving the child.
