Always a pleasure to see this pair in action. Thanks for posting! As Extra Gloss Protection is a thin liquid it is easy to over apply and that is where you get the dust and slight grabbing of the cloth. Many thanks for this. I've been using Autoglym Super Resin Polish for years and started using their Gloss Protection about 5 years ago, but have had real problems with the latter and was going to stop using it. I was really struggling to take it off; as you say it's grippy and I hand polish. So I watched ths video and I know where I've been going wrong. I've been putting too thick a coat on. So this time I copied you and put a thinner coat on and hey presto; it worked wonderfully and I took if off very easily. So not only can I now keep using it, you've also saved me money, because the thinner coat means I use less of it

It all depends on what you want to achieve. If you want to remove any protection from the car then yes you will need to decontaminate the paint using a decon wash, tar remover, fallout and a panel wipe. But if all you want to do is top up the existing protection then all you need to do is wash and reapply. Hope that helps

One could argue that SRP and Sonax BSD are the only paintwork care products that you really need to make a car look 100x better than the rest sitting at Tesco's car park. Both tried and true, easy to use products. SRP works really well with a DA BTW. I used it with a Ryobi orbital buffer for the first time back in 2015 on a black car and it looked amazing.

I have been using these products in smash repair shops for over 30yrs and still haven’t found anything better and yes i have tried most. Best thing about it for panel shops is there is no silicon. Do yourself a favour and apply with a damp cloth and thinly. That will nearly eliminate the dust you mention and make removal easier. Main reason people don’t like Super resin polish is because they apply it to heavy and try to remove before being completely dry. Super resin polish i leave on overnight before buffing off.

I will be using them both late-spring/early-summer on my car as it needs some tlc. I apply the SRP on a dual-action polisher which does a great job preparing the paint for the final stage. Once the EGP has been buffed off, I will go over with a quick spritz of detailer spray to finish off - this will give months and months of protection, although I will still top up the EGP every so many washes as its so quick to use.

It depends on the condition of your paintwork really. The Super Resin will mask minor swirls and scratches that may be all you need. But if you clay the car then you will undoubtedly introduce more swirls and so most times a car is clayed it undoubtedly introduces minor swirls so then given a machine polish to give the perfection that you look for. Depending on the car, if it is a daily driver then the chances are the super resin will do the trick but if you are looking for perfection the clay and machine polish will be the way to go. Hope that’s of some help. If not then you know how to contact me. Happy detailing

Great review Martin. I think AG products are unfashionable amongst very keen detailers but, the average car owner will still see these products as a bit upmarket compared to, say, basic Turtle Wax products or Simonize. I reckon there are levels of car care from those who might put the car through a scratch machine at Tesco every blue moon right through to keen detailers like yourself. I see AG as being ideal for those who don't aspire to the levels of perfection achieved by the best detailing practices but do like to look after their car. In terms of a new motorcycle would you advise using these for paint and then anti corrosion for the non painted metal (i was thinking bilt hamber atom mac or xcp rust blocker) just want to get it protected well from the start. Cheers

Hi, I have ceramic coated the paint work on my Harley although that’s not a necessity you could use any wax or sealant. When I wash the bike I use a spray on rinse off sealant as that tends to get in all the nooks and crannies. I wouldn’t worry too much about rust protection on a new bike. Hope that’s of some help

Autoglym is a British made product and I’ve always used it. I had an Audi A6 avant that I put almost half a million miles on the clock(private hire work) and everyone commented on how good the paintwork looked. This was down to the duo of polishes shown here. I washed the car nearly every day and polished it once a month. The car looked like new.

Hello Darren, not really mate other than like most products don’t apply to a hot panel. Just follow the instructions on the bottle and you will enjoy a great finish.
@darrenmicklewright20082 жыл бұрын
Wow the water behavior with this combo is great 👍. When washing a week later the water from the hose just hits the car and runs straight down and off, and after rain or a damp night the beads are as good as any wax but the surface is more sliker so driving at 40mph it just glids of the car taking some dust with it. A cheap easy on/off alternative to waxing

Difficult to put a person on it as it will depend on preparation before application, road & weather conditions and vehicle use but I would say its not a particular long lasting combo, maybe a couple of months. If you are looking for a long lasting wax then check out Soft99 Fusso, Ive seen 12 months
