Once again Robert nails it. As someone who has gone several days without sleep I can attest that his perspective/approach is spot on!

Yes! I am very aware of living like this. Constant scanning of myself. ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy) has relieved me greatly of this. Seek a therapist who SPECIFICALLY treats OCD and uses ACT. A therapist who spends the hour with you pouring out your issues, or to find the source of this is wasting your time (and money). Best of luck. You can live a better life. I was where you are and no it can change.

I've had tolerable tinnitus for probably more than 10 years now, but with my OCD themes constantly shifting, I recently started obsessing over the tinnitus. As a result of my hyper awareness I also started focusing on my tensor tympani muscle fluttering, and those flutters send me into a panic. When the flutters aren't happening, I find myself just anticipating when it is inevitably going to present itself again. The videos on this channel have helped me a lot the past couple weeks. I am ready to start shifting my mentality from "How can I make this go away" to "I can still live a happy life even with these symptoms". The fear that I associate with this inner ear fluttering, is far more uncomfortable than the fluttering itself. It's really awesome of you to share this knowledge with people struggling with their own unique issues. Dealing with stuff like this can make you feel alone, so it's nice to hear from others who know what you're going through.

Yes! The key is to live with (fill in the blank). Yes, I am (anxious, depressed, out of shape, sleep terribly, and have OCD) but I am still going to do the things I need to do and do the things I want to do. I can still enjoy the things I enjoy the life while being the above and feeling them in my body.

How? I can’t enjoy life with my anxiety being there! I’m not enjoying the moments if I have anxiety sensations! Damn I feel stuck

Can the “checking constantly how you feel” be considered a compulsion?
