Thank you this was incredibly helpful. Been trying to lower the oil for an elderly friend who needs help with rough skin but does not need so much excess oil. I discovered body butters years ago. Older sister was in biracial marriage. From birth I have suffered from poor circulation and chronic cellulitis infections. While the antibiotics helped with infections my skin became so damaged. I used cocoa butter but it had no effect really. My sisters mother-in-law gave me my first sugar scrub and body butter. Vanilla cinnamon and brown sugar. It smelled heavenly for that alone I would use it. What made it better my skin started looking like human skin and not pinkish grey tan elephant hide. I never looked back. You could not buy this stuff then. But what I wanted was hard to find that wasn't like the stuff originally. My sisters MIL passed. Sweetly she made me a copy of her recipes even added notes for changing cosmetic colors for my brighter than a day in the snow white dry as ash skin. Before anyone gets offended. I use these recipes to help all. I don't sell any cosmetic products I make from these recipes. And when I die this recipe book goes back to my nieces and nephews. She never told me I couldn't sell stuff. But she never did so anyone's going to do it then it will be her blood kin. They know I have a copy and I make everything they ask for. But this is an art form creating these homemade butters and creams and cosmetics. Many in society don't understand. These things are not just superficial coverups. In mine and many others it's healing and health to us. So I respect it and where it came from.

All hero's don't wear capes, you prove that! You just saved me!!! I've been so mad and boggling my mind of wny my skin is so good from making my own body butter but I'm still getting white/black heads ugh. I been using wheat germ oil for my face and a body butter to moisturize smh! Thank you, not one video, article or peer reviewed study said anything about the Comedogenic Scale!!!! Also, why don't you use xanthan gum instead of arrow root?
@More_gud Жыл бұрын
xantham gum is a thickener and works best in lotions when you want to use less of an emulsifier.

@CougarLyfe Жыл бұрын
Hi @MarshMel, your skin will be soft afterwards using Cornstarch or Arrowroot Powder. The powders absorbs excess oil taking away the after greasy feeling. 🌹

Sis!! Thank you for this video! It was informative and to the point. Question: I just watched a video and they said to add a preservative like Geraben (I think). Do I need this to preserve the body butter? Thanks in advance ☺️
@OceNatural2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome ! Some people add preservatives but I don’t since this doesn’t contain water . You can always add an oil based preservative if you choose to. Germaben isn’t oil soluble

@@OceNatural It is readily soluble at a level of 1.0% in both water/oil and oil/water emulsions, but not in water alone. They have one for oil and water.

@@CougarLyfe Hi! I believe It is best used in emulsions/formulas with water and not only anhydrous formulas. I am only familiar with germaben II is there another version of germaben? This video formula is an anhydrous formula but for an emulsified body butter containing water I would definitely go with germaben if one is okay with the fact it has parabens

@@OceNatural Hi Queen, how are you? I’ll have to go through my Amazing order history. As I said above, not paying attention because I new to the game. I feel grains of cornstarch in my butter. Now it just feels greasy with grains in it too. It’s mango butter, a little bit of liquid coconut oil (fractionated or something), and corn starch. If I heat it and add water and glycerin will it help?
