I drive a lot of miles for my job and I drive my Scat Pack every day because I love it. It's the muscle car I've always wanted (I'm 59). So no matter how impractical it is, I'm still going to drive it every day (unless it snows) and enjoy the hell out of it. Life is short. Live it!!!

😂 man you nailed it! Just got my 19 SCAT 2 months ago. Already spent so much money on it. Luxe tail light tint, mid tailight dodge delete replaced with SCAT PACK, Shift light, red trim kit, the list goes on. Having a custom shift ball made as we speak. It'll be ready jan 2020. My wife is like WTF. Where's my bling! And a lot more coming. Meeting people. Yep. When i get gas and just yesterday 2 houses down my new neighbor. His dad was helping him move in. Dad saw my car and came over. Showed me pics of his Scat. Told me about a FB group in Central FL for mopar owners. Have a whole new family now. Driving in the rain. God damn. I installed a throttle controller and trying to leave from a stop on wet roads takes a little clutch effort. And even at a roll in 2nd if i give it to much gas forget it. Rear tires done. I can adjust the x9 throttle controller to eco mode. Makes wet road driving easier. Parking. Yep... You nailed everything. Glad to hear its trouble free 2 years later. Only thing I'm pissed about I found rust on my engine block. I picked it up straight off the delivery truck . had 8 miles on it. But I hear that's common on challengers since they're iron engine blocks. Mine was probably built in the winter in Canada so as soon as it hit the road to the train yard it was doomed.

Love the commentary, hate the music. I bought my car used and just like you said, I love this car and treat it almost like my show cars - I don't drive my show cars as much as the Challenger. That's why I bought it, to drive. It does suck in bad weather but as you say, have respect for this car and what it can and can't do. It's a heavy car and in adverse conditions it helps to use that weight to your advantage. The slower you go, the heavier it is. Bad weather, no hot rodding, save it for later. You're right about attracting attention and people making comments about how much they like it and it's just an R/T. It is NOT another jelly bean/bubble car. The R/T gets 24 - 26 mpg. I love the way you describe this car because it takes no time at all for it to endear itself to you. Gas is a lot cheaper outside of loony greenie CA.
@ocmotivator5 жыл бұрын
Fair enough. Don’t and never did expect everyone to like the music but I can’t stand boring talking head videos so I’m sticking with it. Especially with the traction I’ve gotten. With this video. But thanks for the input.
@richardweyland1165 жыл бұрын
First of all, if you and the car were boring, you'd need to worry about being a talking head. I'm not opposed to music with a video. This type of music is used in a lot of videos I'v watched. I suppose it's free and that's why it gets used so much. Your commentary is interesting enough that it overcomes the annoying soundtrack, otherwise I would have clicked off of it. This is a beautiful car and I agree with the guy who commented about the supercars - they do absolutely nothing for me other than scream to the world that someone has enough money to piss away on something that is merely expensive. I don't think they look cool at all and wouldn't buy one even if I could. This is a passenger car that out performs many super cars that are far more expensive. I can put my welder and welding gear in the trunk, have my cooler in front of the passenger seat and drive for hours without jacking up my right leg. I know Camaro people, die hard Mustang people who drove this car and fell in love with it ultimately buying one. It's looks span time and provide a much needed break from the overwhelming number of neutered dehumanized boring excuses for motorized transportation.

I agree with the guy who commented about the supercars - they do absolutely nothing for me other than announcing to the world that someone pissed away a ton of money just for bragging rights that they have an expensive car. Richard Weyland fair enough. And no. That music isn’t free. I pay a subscription to 4 different sites for permission to use their music libraries. It’s just the vlog style to bring a little more energy to videos. I’m pulling the volume down in future videos and trying to find a happy medium. My audience demographics are almost 80% from 18-44 years old so it seems the music works for them. I drop off to less than 20% over 44. On top of that, this was one of my all time most successful videos. So I hesitate to change too much. Still learning and I can’t be everything to everyone I guess. Just doing the best I can here. Thanks for the input. 👍🏼

Any turn you make you have to watch putting power to the wheels. I always tell people I let drive mine (which everyone wants too) make sure the wheels are straight before you give the wheels any power or that rear end will instantly be in front of your front end. I have the same color scheme as the one in this video, the one thing I don’t like is the Scat Pack Stripe in the rear with these colors because it doesn’t stand out, you have to really look to see if it’s there. It needs more contrast. A light colored car should have a dark stripe or vice versa, not stripe & car being dark.

I have a 2017 Scat Pack. I love this car. I live in Wisconsin and drive it every day snow or rain . I have a super easy drive to work. No hills! basically a straight shot 70 MPH on freeway for about 8 miles. So I can fill up once every two weeks and average 21 to 22 mpg in 4cyl mode. Now having said that when I put this 480 horse beast in sport mode and rip around and or city drive its more like 14 to 16 mpg . So far my 0 to 60 is at BEST 4.1 seconds with Goodyear summer tires. I change the tires for winter driving and then its spin city no traction at all but ironically much better in rain and snow. Long story short a cheap power house that is fun to drive fairly fast for the size and weight of the vehicle with a relatively low sticker price. Enjoyed your video.

I average around 18 or so...and still have enough fun. Considering our Highlander only averages about 2mpg more it's great all things being equal. Also, I don't have any issues with it in the rain but then again I live in Wisconsin so I'm used to slippery roads and rain is easy. Mine stays in the hangar(along with other toys) from about Dec 1 until April 1 or so.

Great Video! You just confirmed want I already knew as my son and I have a 2016 Purple Scat Shaker and both feel just as you described. I can afford the other cars and have owned 3 Porsches but, none of them take me back to my youth like the Challenger. I'm 59 and my son is 19 and it works for both of us. It's not how much you paid for the car but how it make you feel when you drive it, that's priceless!

I built a connection with my challenger. I daily drove a bright yellow challenger that was super loud and only got pulled over for speed a couple times. Cops would look but never really single me out. The car is super comfortable, especially if you upgrade the suspension but stock is great. The car was super reliable. No leaks or breaking stuff. Just change the fluids when they need, maybe a belt, and if you like to get those tires loose and spin then maybe check your front end ball joints at 75k- if you are a baby to the car, it will last long time especially if it’s a manual. Only thing I disagree with this video is the traction- sometimes the car would be trying to take over traction in lots of rain when I was gettin sloppy. Miss her 😣

Living in Chicago, factory Goodyear tires sucked! Only got 12k mikes out of them. Bought Continental Extreme Contact DWS...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! So much better in cold rain and even light snow. I have CRV for big snow days...but overall LOVE MY OCTANE RED 2018 SCAT PACK! Plan on having it a long time. Did Eibach pro springs and mid muffler delete...many many compliments on the car. Best car purchase!

I love that you did this video! I have stick shift, it definitely depends on how I drive it. I commute but I do not drive my baby everyday. When I do drive it, since it's mainly freeway on gas I get 20-22 mpg. I've seen it as high as 24. However if I let my dad drive it around the neighborhood I can tell he's pushed the sports button and my MPG gets down to 16😒

I've just bought one 2 weeks ago pitch black. I LOVE IT! Manual is a must. I will say that 6 gear is super tall. Feels like you have to be doing at least 68mph and above to even use it. Nonetheless I'm still going thru break-in. Not my daily driver and the weather sucks so Its a slow process. But it's the most fun car I've ever owned.

i am the proud owner of a 2009 challenger srt8-super low mileage-i purchased it 5 1/2 years ago with 10500 original miles-hemi orange-automatic transmission-really a nice car. i traded my 1995 purple corvette -i wish i had the space for both of these cars-finite space....the most fun car i have ever owned-just like the 1970 dodges with 440 big blocks---this is the only car i ever owned that makes me smile from ear to ear-the corvette could carve the road with its suspension-the challenger is not a canyon carver-it does have a good suspension for what it is-over 2 tons...i love it it a true american road cruiser with all the power i want from that 6.1 hemi.

4:33 You are spot on. Cops love challengers here in TX, Travis County. There’s a respect barrier that I’ve noticed out of all the warnings from myself admittedly driving like an asshole. Heck they even ask if you can rev it before they let you off with a verbal warning.
