October 22, 1986-WNBC News 4 (Mets Win Game 4 of World Series; WNBC Helicopter Crash)

-This is "News 4 New York" from October 22, 1986 following the completion of Game 4 of the World Series where the Mets beat the Red Sox to even things at two games apiece. Sal Marchiano does a live report from Fenway and interviews Ron Darling.
-The lead story that night was the fatal crash of the WNBC radio traffic helicopter that killed traffic reporter Jane Dornacker while she was doing the report live on the air. Dornacker had been an occasional actress with a part in "The Right Stuff."
-There are some tracking glitches due to tape deterioration that cause occasional picture jitter.

I lived in CT from the mid 80s until 2001 so this brings back a lot of memories. I remember all the reporters and the tragic news of the copper crash. The Mets were also my team so it was fun to watch the coverage of the World Series. So many good times and memories

So she wasn't wearing her seat belt, which was what would have possibly kept her conscious after the crash, because she had trouble with it in her previous helicopter crash. That is so fucking sad.
