On Friday evening, SD Fire-Rescue Capt. Greg Davies and his wife Jennifer arrived in San Diego from Shreveport, LA. Capt. Davies is one of three San Diego Urban Search & Rescue - California Task Force 8 (CA-TF8) members injured in a crash on the way to assist victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The other two, Battalion Chief Aide Barbat and Capt. Jesse Schultz, remain hospitalized in Shreveport. Greg's sisters and father met him at baggage claim for a brief reunion prior to leaving the airport. And shortly after, several firefighters welcomed Greg and Jen at the CA-TF8 facility. Jen and Greg are grateful for the tremendous support they've received from SDFD, public safety agencies in Texas and Louisiana and members of the public who have prayed and shared kinds words.
