Thanks for taking your time to create this service for us and then to offer it for free! It's been good to me for the entire time I've been using it and I have no problem telling people that. For the features and the price there's no reason to not be using this.

Always good to get a notification that you have a New video,I know I'm going to learn something. In this case I have used Octoeverywhere for a while now and has been very useful.

This is great news. Now I can monitor my prints while I wait for my mom to pick me up from my MTG nights.

Patrick that's a great point! You can start a print then go out on EDH or draft night and not have to worry about a print failing and you not being home! The best part is if your mom is at home while the print fails you can ask her (nicely) to help clear the error and you can start a new print!! Thanks for watching and I appreciate you sharing your experience!

I setup my printer with Tailscale and their Let's Encrypt SSL certificates and I can access Mainsail directly, securely from anywhere. Might try OctoEverywhere just for the AI failure detection in the future, though. Great video!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I know some people also been using home assistant as a way to access their printer from anywhere. For the price and the ease of installing OE it's really worth it to just give it a shot and see how it works for you. Good luck and if you need help let me know !

It just has free trial, I used this for trial and print failure detection didn't work ;/

I'll say the first time I used this (a year ago) I tested the error detection by manually messing up a print in progress, and it did not detect it. I was a little turned off by it but still kept using it because I figured I could at least check in while I was away and look at the webcam myself. But since that initial miss by OE it was spot on every other time. Not sure if it was just how I had my camera setup, or where it was positioned/lighting, or even if the algorithm needed to get a few print runs to really start detecting the area. That print failure detection and access is still free, so it may still be worth it to have it installed and use it when you can.

@@billy.the.maker. that’s great feedback! If you open a support ticket, we are happy to take a look. Our AI failure detection uses some advanced temporal models to ensure there’s a problem before it warms the user to pauses the print, so it might take a minute or two after the issue first shows up before it’s reported.

Verbose, not really. I have a low tolerance for BS and not getting to the point. I watched to the end, so you must be doing something right. I just need to set up a webcam for my new EN4P.

Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate you giving me some reassurance. I try hard to thread the needle between informative, cohesiveness, and brevity. Happy to hear it's working! Good luck with the Neptune , OE will be a nice addition to that printer!

@@PrintsLeo3D This and your screws tilt adjust video (bed tramming), for me at least, struck absolutely the right balance between being informative without being too slow. Could it have been speed up? Probably, but that is with hindsight of doing it. I think what struck me the most on the STA video is it was like listening to a mate who recognises that I'm not stupid but also knows I'm wary of mucking up my printer and needed a little bit of hand holding. Great job on the balance.

@argy8141 I really like the way you phrased this lol "being a mate who recognizes that I'm not stupid but who also knows I'm wary of mucking up my printer..." That's exactly what I'm going for. I'm not smarter than anyone else, I just may know how to do this one thing a little more, and I'm here to help everyone do it by explaining how I learned and understood it.

Hello, my name is Francesco, and I am a 16-year-old boy passionate about 3D printing. I am writing to you because since I bought my Elegoo Neptune 4, I have had to level the bed and adjust the Z-offset with every print. This is a crucial procedure for successful printing but it is repetitive, time-consuming, and tedious. So, I searched online for a solution and came across these new sensors that implement a new technology, which allows for a much faster, more detailed, and more precise mesh compared to current sensors. Additionally, from what I understand, they should also be able to automatically calibrate the Z-offset. However, I couldn't find practically any information about them (perhaps because the product is new), so I was wondering if you could create some content on a few brands that have implemented this technology. The two I found are the Bigtreetech Eddy and Beacon. The problem with these sensors is that they need to be installed on the printer, and since I am not very experienced with these things, it would be helpful if you could not only review the product but also go through the installation procedure. Thank you, I will be waiting for your response.

Hey Francesco, thanks for watching! Those Eddy probes are really cool and I just ordered one offline so I could try and install it on one of my 3d printers! So there will be a video coming , but I don't know if that will solve your issues. The probes we use now, whether it be contact or non contact, should not have you adjusting the z offset every print. I know a little bit about the limitations that Elegoo has put into its implementation of Klipper, and I'm thinking perhaps this is a built in issue. Which means you should be able to make a workaround for it. When you adjust the z offset during your print do you use the screen on the printer or the dedicated webpage for the printer ?

Thank you for the quick response. Regarding the calibration of the z-offset, I use the printer’s screen and a piece of paper. But when you talk about a problem and limitations in the Klipper of my Elegoo and that I should therefore find an alternative solution, what are you referring to?
@PrintsLeo3D
@PrintsLeo3D 13 күн бұрын
@claudiovitacca3208 well I know that Elegoo does not offer the same complete access through the webpage that Klipper normally would (or so I've been told). It's also been my experience that some printers with Klipper installed from the factory save data in unusual ways, and z offset has been in my experience affected by this. When you adjust the z offset using the paper, is there a number you are saving into the printers screen?

OctoEverywhere is at it's core free, but some of the services are limited. The free version will allow you to have 3 printers hooked up, you get 30 seconds of uninterrupted webcam streaming every 2 minutes of video, and up to 4 notifications per day. If you choose to subscribe you get all the same stuff but you'll get more notifications per day, more printers concurrently in the service, longer video streams etc. If you skip to around 17:43 of the video I have the screen that shows all the different yiers of OE and what they offer. In the end the features you want are 100% free! Edit: I am going to change the phrasing on free trial to make it more intuitive, thanks for bringing that up.

@@PrintsLeo3D so I can still stop a print or start a print or check on a print at any time just limited on notifications and how long you can stream, and also your link does not work

@NoMercyFtw yes, for free you'll always get the ability to access your printer from anywhere (front end access, start print, stop print, slice and send print, monitor or with webcam). I'll check the link now, Quinn sent it to me earlier today so it's possible I copy and pasted it wrong.
