As the systemic treatment lead for the EORTC Melanoma group and the founder and chair of the UK guideline group on Uveal Melanoma, Professor Nathan brings a wealth of knowledge to the discussion.
With over 150 published papers, including notable works in the New England Journal of Medicine, Professor Nathan has led numerous melanoma and renal carcinoma clinical studies and has advised leading pharmaceutical companies. He has also provided expert testimony to the EMA, MHRA, and NICE.
In this talk, Professor Nathan guides patients on how to access reliable information and assess the credentials of professionals in the ultra-rare disease space. He discusses the limitations of genetic sequencing, key indicators of quality care, the importance of peer-reviewed publications, and the advantages of seeking a second opinion.
