The whole "suddenly you're queen of Zou" thing just seems so out of place and honestly not Oda's normal writing style. This a guy who LOVES giving his characters happy endings. I find it hard to believe that Carrot's "happy" ending is her becoming queen of an island she wanted to be off of in order to explore.

We can't just assumed the Minks forced her with Luffy abandoning her with no care about her, so I can only presume that Carrot ultimately decided to go with it as a way of going out of her comfort zone a little bit so as to help Zou after it got wrecked.

Another point as to why Yamato cant be a log keeper is that in Oden's journey, even he has said the log keeping job is usually the navigator's responsibility. Considering Yamato sees Oden's journey as her bible and what he wrote down as what to live by, she herself would also say the navigator should be the log keeper. So even if she was offered the role, she would refuse it.

Yesss perfect. Finally someone who understands that Carrot is simply BUILT To join the strawhats. If Oda simply wanted her to Rule Zou, confirming it takes the same amount of time he spent making her DECLINE THE OFFER IN THE FIRST PLACE. It's not hard for him to set it up correctly, but he decided not to do that and left us on a cliffhanger. Carrot's introduction was about being a Lookout, and then Oda had her become a Lookout on the Sunny for an entire arc, while having her mentor die and give her the will that ties directly to the strawhats. It's not hard to understand that it's basically confirmed that she's joining. The connection between Jinbei and Carrot is something you should do a video on, there's so many connections between the Fishmen and the Minks, but specifically the fact that it's the Sun Pirates and Nox Pirates. Sun and Moon, Day and Night, Fishman and Mink, Helmsman and Lookout, Old and Young, while also both fighting with their Race Fighting Styles. It's not like Oda was hiding anything there.

The thing with people saying Vivi will be the 10th is that they're wrong from the start. Vivi already *is* a Strawhat. Oda lists her with them, and even numbers her 5.5. He counts her, but has used her to tell a part of the story away from the actual main crew(and probably will continue to do so). Another issue is that we've seen the concept art for the Strawhats, but originally with the first Helmsman concept edited out until after Jinbe joined. That, combined with Luffy's statement about "10", means that Oda's likely had a vague idea for the crew from the start even if many of them have changed drastically. We know also that Vivi was not thought of from the start, but was added as a way to narratively connect the crew more to the Alabasta storyline, so she likely isn't there.

Several thoughts: Regarding ship roles, messenger/diplomat has been shown previously in the series. Rockstar does that for Shanks. It would be neat to have Vivi announce Luffy WWE style. I think Vivi would also make a good quartermaster. If the Straw Hats want a log keeper at this point, they should get Pudding or someone that can use the Paw Paw fruit (after Kuma inevitably dies) and have them extract memories of previous adventures and write them down. One point in Vivi's favor is that she was the only other person to catch 3D2Y. She theoretically could have spent the timeskip training and might have an unexpected powerup. Same with Carue. One point in Carrot's favor is that Inu and Neko stowed away twice. Twice. She has one more to go. Another point in Carrot's favor, from an editorial standpoint, is merch. She's the most toyetic of all the remaining nakama candidates, especially for the younger demographic. Also, Oda has been drawing a lot of rabbit ears lately.

While I don't think of Yamato's fighting style as a carbon copy of Kaidou's, I can still see, why others have a different opinion on that. But even if her fighting style was a carbon copy of Kaidou, then that would make Sanji's fighting style at least as much of a carbon copy of Zeff's. And I don't think anyone would argue about Sanji not fitting into the crew. I also found it funny, that Yamato was the ONLY one out of the three to get "linked" to not only one, but two of Blackbeard's crew, but still got the least points for that... That does by no means imply I'm against the outcome of the video as a whole, because if we only get ONE more Strawhat, I do hope it will be Carrot, because she's my favorite, and the scene of her being made the new ruler of Zou felt like one of the weirdest moments of One Piece to me.

I'm here! I'm a Carrot fan! I honestly have no idea what Oda did with her cause she was built up so well and had great chemistry with the crew and even went on an adventure with them, which kinda fixes the idea that any new member won't have enough time with them, and then Yamato popped up out of no where and put a wedge between the fandom and apparently in Oda's mind too, and then Carrot just basically fucks off immediately after the offer to rule Zou? In my mind this is a setup to have her sneak on the ship again. I actually think she hid in the same barrel as Caribou and then got sucked into his swamp, but hasn't popped up yet cause we haven;t seen Caribou yet and we need a bit more Jimbei time before introducing another official member. Always felt Carrot had the most potential with especially how abrupt and inconclusive her "ending" was when compared to Vivi and Yamato. Both made their own decisions to stay where they wanted, but Carrot had that decision thrust onto her with thin reasoning, plus the fact there was more unexplored with her. Add on the Sulong Rumble Ball, the fact the moon MIGHT come back into play because of Eneru, and honestly, she sticks out in a good way without looking "samey" to Nami and Robin (face-wise) lol. Plus I feel she could learn a little from the whole crew to grow as a character and fighter with fun interactions that would still be in-character and make sense, power scale wise.

I strongly suspect Carrot is tied to the Void Century and that is the real reason she was made to rule Zou. Why? Every major ally to the Straw Hats who is a political leader is. Vivi? Her family were the only Noble family to not join the Celestial Dragons. Plus Alabasta as a Poneglyph. Shirahoshi: She is a literal Ancient Weapon and Fishman Island holds 2 Poneglyphs (1 being a Road Poneglyph). Pudding? She can read the Ponegylphs and Tottoland holds a 1 Road Ponegylph. Momo and Hiyori? They are Kozukis (who created the Poneglyphs) and their mother Toki is almost certainly from the Void Century. That just leaves Carrot, who now guards a Road Poneglyph and Zunisha who lived during the Void Century. Clearly Oda is hiding a connection Carrot personally has to the Void Century. Pedro did not choose her to inherit his Will on a whim. He knew from the moment their training began that Carrot was someone worth investing his limited lifespan into.

I can only hope we'll get an answer sometime soon. We're half-way through Rabbit year, and still no rabbit. This last break has been killing me, though I understand it can't be helped. I pray there are no complications with Oda Sensei's surgery. For his sake, as well as ours. In all honesty, I was one of those people that argued Vivi would (theoretically) make a decent diplomat. I also pointed out, that the Straw Hats have out-grown the need for one. A yonkou can make peace through sheer intimidation, and Luffy has already started taking countries under his flag. The one time Vivi was necessary in that role, was when they needed the people of Drum to work with them. She just so happened to be perfect for the job, at that particular point in the story. Which is fine, since I'd rather have Carrot, anyway.

To be perfectly fair, pretty much all Cat themed characters fights with gauntlets or gloves of some kind. We have the Black Cat Pirates in Syrup Village and the two cat brothers in Whitebeard’s crew to mention a few. That being said, the only thing that differentiates Zoro from other sword fighters is that he uses a 3 Swords Style, whereas everyone else is 1-2 or 4+ swords users. Although not completely original, Carrot does have a nice combo with electric claw gloves, jump good abilities, and finally Sulong on Command with the help of Chopper and most likely eventually all on her own. Also, although Nami has a bunch of electric attacks and Zeus the Thundercloud on her side, she is mainly a Weather fighter, whereas Carrot would go purely Electric to differentiate her from the rest of the crew. I mean, both Luffy and Sanji use primarily Fire as elemental damage.

I think Vivi could be the crew treasurer as it is at least feasible that she could have learned the skill for it as part of her education for preparing to be the next ruler of Alabasta and is one of very few people Nami would trust with the money (and while Nami may have been the defacto treasurer up until this point, I would argue it is only in the same way that Usopp was the defacto shipwright until Water 7. Nami isn't actually trained in it and I think a crew would normally have someone with that as their primary job.) And currently I would think taking down the conspiracy that killed her father and is preventing her from taking Alabasta's throne would be her dream; though that is admittedly more a reason for her to join the Revolutionary Army). She would want to return to Alabasta to protect it, yes, but she is smart enough to know that, as long as the WG is after her (she really doesn't need to know about Imu for this motive) the safest thing she can do for Alabasta is stay away until she can take down the conspiracy gunning for her. We know she is willing to leave Alabasta in order to investigate the threats against it, since that is what she did when she infiltrated Baraque Works. Also I would say her strength is hard to measure since I am not 100% sold on the idea that she is still as weak as she used to be. I am sure she understands that knowing how to fight is useful to protecting Alabasta and could have easily been training the entire time she was separated from the Strawhats. And while you do need a role to join the crew, you don't need to show the skills for that role until after you have joined. We didn't see Jinbe's helmsman skills until after he joined the Strawhats. (I am also not sure Jinbe fits the unique fighting style criteria either. It is exceptionally good Fishman karate, but it is still Fishman Karate which Koala and her teacher both know.) With all that said I am still team Carrot. Also I feel like we will be getting an "the adventure goes on" type ending with Luffy setting sail with a bunch of new crew members (Yamato could be including in this) in addition to the main Strawhats.

Sure they don't necessarily need a treasurer besides Nami (just like they don't need a lookout besides Ussop), but a ships crew would normally have a person where that is their main job rather than splitting it between being a navigator and treasurer. And, no, whether or not Luffy would think to hire a treasurer doesn't matter. Luffy already asked Vivi to join way back at the end of Alabasta and he rarely hires people for their role. (He didn't think to make Ussop the sniper until he specifically fired the Merry's canons even if he did show marksmanship skills before that. He didn't even taste Sanji's cooking before wanting to make Sanji the cook. He never cared at all about hiring an archeologist. It was only in Skypia, after Robin joined, that there were even hints that the Poneglyphs could be used to find the One Piece and only confirmed way later. Brook and Chopper may have revealed their role before joining, but Luffy didn't know it when he first asked them to join. And, as mentioned, Jinbe only showed his helmsman skills after he had joined the crew.) I think Zoro was the only crew member where Luffy was just looking at skill (though Nami and Franky are debatable.)

The Mink tribe, due to Zunesha's Crime have been left unintentionally isolated from the rest of society for so long that many outside new world have forgotten that they even exist. Even with Beppo in Law's crew, he could be chalked up by humans as a Zoan fruit user. So, in order to help her people, Carrot needs to join the crew in order to spread the word of the Mink tribe's existence once more. As Beppo clearly hadn't been doing that much to help the Minks become relevant. As well, Carrot needs to bring more knowledge of the modern world home with her along her journey if she has any hope of justifying her former Lord's wishes of making her Princess of Zou.

I'm a Yamato fan but she's not joining, it is what it is. This is far fetched but I think the final Straw Hat that potentially matches qualities for the crew is Lilith (Vega Punk), Stussy, or someone from Elbaf. I know Vivi and Boonie are getting semi-development as of recent but Oda might pull a random moment like Robin and Brook and go for characters like Stussy and Lilith (Vega Punk) or possibly someone that hasn't been introduced yet. Stussy is literally a bat and would make a great look out and Lilith is either a cyborg or robot that stay up and be a look out as well. They're both fighters and although we don't know if Stussy has some sort of dream, Luffy did promise a Vega Punk that he will get him off of Egg Head Island and set sail with him so Lilth might be the one instead of the Stella. Finally, I like the idea of the final Straw Hat being a size changing giant from Elbaf.

I’m going to be completely honest… no one attack me for this it’s just my personal opinion: i do not believe the straw hats will gain another crew member, oda has shown us time and time again when we meet a new character and they joined the crew, he simply added them within’ a few chapters/ episodes. Technically ViVi/ Carrot and Yamato are strawhats but more on the lines of the grand fleet. But they all had their time with the crew and moved on, it wouldn’t make any sense for Oda to bring them back and have them join. So simply, none of them are going to be part of the main crew itself. I just don’t think at this point, adding another crew member just wouldn’t make sense at this point in the story.

What does having a unique fighting style have to do with anything? So what if Yamato has a fighting style that's almost identical to kaido's? That just means she could wash carrot and vivi with just her haki alone. Then add in she has a mythical zoan devil fruit she is a beast. Not to mention we have yet to figure out what Yamato would be good at on a ship, her dreams is to leave wano and have a adventure thats a great dream. Carrot being a lookout is not good enough because usopp is still a better look out him being a sniper with observation haki, carrot can be a part time lookout at night but thats it. Also if we are talking about more useful ability Yamato is it, carrots true abilities can't be utilized in less thier is a full moon and we have seen in wano that carrots fighting abilities are sub par. As of right now the strawhats need capable fighters especially haki users to combat the future battles with the up and coming fight with the world government and the rest of the yonko's.

But, you know what would be interesting? If Oda trolled the fuck out of us, and had "Yamato" approach the SHs on Egghead Island. I'm sure Black Beard knows of her existence, and it wouldn't surprise me if Catarina Devon could transform into her. It would be enough to take Sanji off guard, that's for sure. Sanji wouldn't be able to fight Catarina, anyway. She may look like a witch, but she's still a woman. He will not fight her, because of his chivalry. Still... her using that knowledge against him would be a great call-back to when Higurashi posed as Oden to recommend Orochi as the surrogate shogun. EDITED: Speaking of surrogates, I'm sure everyone already knows how I see Wanda's role in the Queen debate. So, bonus points if Oda can work that into the same chapter with the Yamato fake-out.

Between Yamato and Vivi, then Vivi is the only one that I can’t just straight up say that she won’t join possibly rather soon. I agree with all your points, but the fact that Luffy very recently told his crew straight up to go and save Vivi, her recent relevance in the Reverie Flashback, and her traveling in Big News Morgan’s flying airship that is most likely traveling to Egghead to cover the upcoming Egghead Incident, and finally the likelihood that Imu might just straight up destroy Alabasta. All these facts really does make it feel like Oda is setting her up to join the crew. Vivi is even being featured along the crew in the Official One Piece KZbin Channel. Although, of course, it could all be Oda trolling the readers once more in the same way as he did back in Alabasta.

For a historian, she doesn't seem to care about creating her own historical records for future historians. - Vivi deserves... at least 0.5 points for role. Luffy wants to be the most free man, yes.
