BATTLE PASS HAS A BATTLE BUS - Breda 90/53 in War Thunder

The Breda 90/53 is an Italian Truck that's the top reward for the Battle Pass Tropical Storm. The Breda has the exact same 90mm cannon as the Breda 501 but it's just on a much worse truck!
The Breda 90/53 only has -2 degrees of gun elevation making it very difficult to fight on hilly terrain. Couple this with the low engine power making it literally impossible to drive up a hill, it can be pretty frustrating.
The good news is, the 90mm Breda is a really good cannon meaning when you do hit something, it's going straight back to the hanger! Very handy for those full uptiers against KV-1's and the like!

I think I'd actually like to see you do an SPAA masterclass video. Really get into the details of how you SPAA "properly" and how you can maximize your effectiveness. Jump between a few common SPAA vehicles from a few different tiers to show how the gameplay changes a bit as technology does. I think people would appreciate and enjoy the information and it'd be a good excuse to play some SPAA like the Wirbel/Ostwind, M19 and such vehicles that many players will likely have in their lineup but possibly never like to use.

Odd, you did great with the Breda (which is a pretty awkward handful.)!! So here's a little _autocannone_ history: The Breda 90/53 was intended to be used like the FlakBus--as self-propelled heavy AA. They built less than a hundred of them (around 60 or so); there are pictures of them at El Alamein being used as mobile support artillery. You mentioned not understanding why they used it, when they had the better Breda 501. The 501 is a _prototype,_ that was designed later, when the Italians realized that the 90 mm could be a great *Anti-Tank gun,* just like the German 88. Only 2 Breda 501s were ever built.

Fun fact, the Breda 90/53 is the Breda 501, but before they modified the Breda chassis to make the 501. They should have similar performance characteristics, being the same engine, transmission, drivetrain, suspension ect - but should have the obvious difference in one is much more built than the other.

I thought they built at least 1 of the Breda 61/90mm? I remember seeing a picture somewhere?? 🤔 NOTE: Guess not, just found the drawings. They said they were discovered in the Breda factory archives in Milan. The Italians did build 36 of the actual halftrack, so we're 1/2-way there, LOL.

Hey Odd, have you considered suffering with the Ratel 90? It's a 6.3 HEAT slinging battle bus with the same turret as the Eland (at 1.0 BR lower) that's got so much empty space in the back it's weirdly survivable, only real pain is 0* rearwards depression and the iffy acceleration. Honestly a pretty fun tank to attempt to zoom around in and do some sneaky flanky bs in.

I think spatial awareness comes only with practice and there are many kinds. Those who drive a car lots tend to get it. Other type of spatial awareness is of other people and your body, sportsters get this type mostly. It's almost precognition in sports and motorsports, one would use experience to figure out other guys next move.

Gaijin really needs to fucking do something about Timed HE shells. At one point, many years ago, you could manually adjust the time fuse on the round with your scroll wheel rather than having to range find each time you wanted to set the range. I don't understand WHY they got rid of that mechanic because it's not like it was overpowered. Hell, this was before even the Flak Bus 88 had its timed HE shell.

da 90 "Breda's ammo type" has been changed, is no longer 520g of TNT "347g" and is now 152mm of pen over the original 132mm.

so BawZ and fans, I have to wonder about long range shots and how the kill cams work with them: when a shot goes out a long range we all know and can safely assume that the round that is fired follows a arched trajectory, though this is not reflected in the kill/hit cams. I have to wonder if the angle of the shell when it reaches a longer range target and hits an angled front plate, for example, would act as though its hitting a flatter surface because of that angle the round is traveling at? This might make vehicles like this one better at longer ranges against M4A3 (105) or T-34 while also making them less affective against them at shorter ranges unless you are aiming for the turret. thoughts? (edit: this question is in direct relation to the game because obviously that would be how it works irl i would have to think) anyways, i love the video, super fun to watch! keep up the amazing work BawZ!

This thing is VERY VFWish, without the reload bonus it seems. I've had a VFW for a while, and I rarely take it out due to the depression issue. One pebble under the front of your tracks makes it impossible to hit anything level with you less than 1000 yards away. :/

Ya that new Russian BTR with the 4 cannons is NUTz and its a low BR i played it on the dev server in a high BR match killing top tier jets its crazy. Its the spaa that is in AirRB ground targets but now we be able to play it in ground next patch and it is pretty nice for its BR but hey its Russia what else can you expect.
