That treehouse should STAY PUT. As a child I was lucky enough to have a father who built my brother and I a treehouse in one of the trees in our backyard. I’m 77 years old now and it one of my most treasured memories! Having to have architectural plans, soil analysis, building permits is twaddle! And an attempt for government agencies to make a buck of a citizen’s back!

Wow, so neat. What a great project that started as a playhouse for the kids and developed over the years to a neighborhood attraction. A shame the beaurocracy got brought in as this is a treehouse, something never meant to be “regulated”. Sad there are always people that can’t get along with others and try to spread their own misery. Glad there is a venue to continue the Boney Island, such a great idea for Halloween. Thanks for sharing this great find. Another cool thing in a regular neighborhood.

lol, we actually built a treehouse in a Little Rock neighbor hood, in THREE sweet gum trees. Tore it down as we moved, it had deteriorated. Snif

What a shame, I'm going through something similar with solar panels, some people's kids eh😒coff coff Karen, coff. If this was mine I would not take it down, I would make a massive noise about it and make them drag me away! This is what I intend to do here in England I won't be bullied to remove something over no harm or loss! My thoughts are with the owners! Also in England after 4 years you don't need planning permission, does this apply to America? 20 years.. how do they have a claim? Hey im kinda late to comment on this video but i would love you guys to know that you are lucky that you made it out of scary dairy for those who dont knpw what in talking about ill tell you the story warning its kind of long: I recently went to a summer camp and the adult that taught me and my group had this story where he went to scary dairy when he was younger he went with two friends who were very strong the went through the gate and saw the building he had a bad feeling he and his friends went to open the first door all he saw was bloody handprints on the walls and it stinked a lot they open the second door and notice trash bags with maggots and it stinks even more he had an even worse feeling but they continued the opened one more door and saw dead cows he felt the body and they felt warm he looked into the cows eyes and they were clouding up he knew he had to leave they look behind them all the doors are closed so the run into them to open them faster eventually they get outside and notice a duffle bag wiggling on the floor all three pf them run out and look behind them and see a man with a pig face he screams super loud and keep in mind its the middle of the night they make it to the car and the guy with the pig face is running at them with a butcher knife they get to his house and lock all the doors and search google for answers and apparently before they went to the farm three hitchhikers went before them and all three had went missing...

Hey, happy Saturday. I fondly remember my treehouse days, we built one in a big eucalyptus in the field across the street. Unfortunately the fun came to an end when someone fell out of it and broke his arm. Everyone's parents decided that kids falling out of trees wasn't a good thing 😞. Rick's treehouse is an impressive bit of work, but I think I prefer the ramshackle kid-build types. Sad to know its days could be numbered, but it's great that you guys got a chance to document it.
