Your daughter is doing a great job with the shooting competition. Thanks for sharing that. Hope the tap handle helps you out. It is kind of funky how they machined them with the straight thread then tapered up. On my the taper doesn't even seat well. Anyhow it'll make a good project. Lots of cool viewer mail this week! I too have a wooden box to open up. Thanks Keith Adam

Nice to see the antique tools. Lots of the channels are putting out "T" shirts lately and though I am a fan of them I never wear "T" shirts because they have no pockets. I feel deprived if a shirt only has one pocket so you can imagine my feeling about no pockets. Yeah I know, old folks are weird. Thanks for the video.

Great mill cutter collection Keith ! Ray & Randy are both great guys . I watch there vids quite a bit . Randy sent me a center punch to test out for the Keith Fenner What's in your box give away . It will be part of his donation to the give away .. I made a vid of it , It turns out to be a very good solid punch . I could not damage it even with a 3 pound hammer and and spring steel ! Great Odds & Ends .. Love the safe restore project as well .. That red paint just set it off super well !!

HI Keith, tanks for another interesting episode of odds&ends. the cutters you got can be used on a bridgeport too.. i went and bought a few chinese arbors for mine and was not very impressed with the runout so i made a few of my own and use a passel of cutters like that i got off of ebay.. they work great.. just gotta run em slow and not take too big a cut.. keep up the good work mike

I inherited these cutters from my machinist uncle who passed on about 25 years ago . . . never did find the horizontal mill on which he must have used them. He worked at Boyar & Schultz from 1945 until 1985 . . . made thousands of Model 620 surface grinders. If you look closely you can see many of them labeled with a carbide vibrator as "Production Mills". I think they were retired from service after so many hours of use. The large one that measures 4.61" dia is labeled 5"; that would seem to suggest it has been resharpened a few times. Enjoy!

Don't forget about machining the hinge acorns for your safe! I definitely want to see that. I need four for a Mosler.
I think that punch is a setter for big grommets and eyelets. If you search for images of antique grommet setter, a few similar looking setters come up. Most have a center alignment pin, but some seem to have been designed without.

Hello Keith, Very nice to see how your daughter can shoot so very well, also because mostly you see men shooting and not so much woman ( or girl better say'd ). Maybe it's different in America but here in the Netherlands I really don't no if there are airshooting clubs. I've also have an air shooting gun but it's an older one that I bought maybe for about 30 years ago. But it isn't an professional gun such as your daughter shoots with but also not a really cheap one. Of course the Odds & Ends are as usual and I am curious about that old tractor and hope you will demonstrate it and let it hear how that old motor sounds. Always also interested in old cars and tractors and old motors, especially the diesel ones. Anyway I learned again a few things and maybe I should also make video's about repairs and mods I do with laptops and pc's. But I'm not the kind of type for going before an camera haha. Besides, is Hannah your only child or do you have more children, always nice to know how you're real live is. And maybe you told it before in one of the video's but what kind of job do you have ? Many greetings from Roel, out of the Netherlands.

I believe the Ideal tool is for deburring between the copper bars of a dc armature commutator after it has been turned. I work in an electric motor shop and I have used one many times after I had turned a commutator.
***** I volunteer at an Electric Railway museum in Ontario Canada and we also have one of these tools that we use on the slots between the bars on motor armatures as Rich G. stated.

On that John Deere 'B': Those particular designs used a thermo-siphon method, rather than a water pump. In some areas, where people might be tempted to just run straight water in them, a fungus could get in the cooling system and grow (in spite of the heat) to fill the system and inhibit the movement of the coolant. Once you get that cleaned out, you might see if you can find something that will kill off any that remains in the block and pipes. I've been told that a healthy dose of bleach will do the trick, but I don't know if that could create other problems if that was left in there for a long period. Believe it or not, the area where I experience this problem was in southeast Alaska, in a John Deere 40 that they would drain out before storing it for the winter. I fished a huge chunk out through the radiator filler, it was slimy and resembled an old loofa sponge that had been used and then left to mildew... they had another tractor that got infected with a fungus that grows in oil. It caused havoc by clogging intake filter screens and ruining a hydraulic pump. A few things to check, while it is that far apart: I've had fans come loose and try to drive themselves through the radiator, so checking that assembly out would be a good idea. Also, the bolts attaching the forward frame at the engine can loosen or wear with use, that will put stress on that lower radiator pipe, especially while moving over uneven ground. Too much, you will have another brazing video to add to the mix. We had an 'A' that did that, and it broke the bolt flanges where the pipe attaches to the block. Those tractors are definitely in my scope of experience. First in getting hurt on Dad's model 'H' at 4 years old (tried to climb the big tire, slipped off and split my chin open on the axle) and later in both working on them and doing work with them. Started raking hay with our old sidewinder 'B' at 11 years old, worked that first day from about 10:00 am until dark. Stayed awake long enough to soak in a bath (with bleach in the water, as chiggers are a problem in our area), get something to eat, and went to bed to continue raking hay in my dreams.
@infoanorexic9 жыл бұрын
I guess if you worked with an old sidewinder and didn't get your thumbs injured or your arm broke, you were taught well. One old timer (not Dad) put a knot on my skull when he caught me starting to pull that old B using my thumbs to grip the flywheel. "If you don't want another, or jammed thumbs, or a broken arm, keep your thumbs over the top of that flywheel. If it fires unexpectedly, you are less likely to get injured that way." He then proceeded to elaborate on what he would do if he caught me trying that again, something to the effect of more knots on the head, but he would use his little ball-peen hammer to do so, and try to make them as square as possible. Adding insult to injury, when I told Dad what he'd done and said, Dad went to him and thanked him!

Cheers. Might be there is some auto level gain thing going on on playback that is compressing it on playback so it doesn't show up on your system. the music will be compressed to full volume whereby the audio you produce is varied due to the nature of the recordings. Bit like adverts between TV shows always being louder because the show has to cover a range but the short advert can be brought right up to its peak volume for its short duration. Im seeing around 8db difference between the intro and your narration. But thats only an estimate.

LQQK what i have found in the King James Bible @ 2nd Thessalonians 2:3-12 read through then look at verse 10 "they received not the love of the truth" (that phrase is that is the King James Bible) almost all churches have a new bible instead of the "Real Bible." and in verse 11 we see God lets them that believe the New bible that "they might be damned who believed not the King James Bible.
