WONDERFUL colourful space romp. The story has more holes in it than Blackburn Lancashire as the film is mainly made up from many scenes from Russian sci-fi movies, but the scenes used are visually stunning, The vampire alien is very impressive. Well worth a look!

saw this as a child and finally found it again. my memory of the film was fading and i could not remember the name. i think it had a lasting influence on me, my love of science, and my entanglements with the wiles of women. there are more than a few blood suckers out there and they aren't all green - lol. thanks for posting.

I saw this on tv when I was 4 years old- I was born in 1966 the year it came out it seems. I watched it alone after being allowed to stay up and told i could sleep on the couch remember vividly her eyes, the eggs being found etc it was a strange sensation as my 55+ year old brain 'merged' with my 4 year old memories/awareness from then thanks for posting this

I found the name of this CLASSIC movie quite by accident by looking up the leading lady Florence Marly when I saw her on a 60s series called "Millionaire". I can't TELL you how thrilled I was - this movie scared & spooked the hell out of my best friend & I while watching it on a B&W TV, on a show called Sir Graves Ghastly in the 60s- a weekend treat we had at that time. So glad it's posted here! I thought it was in B&W - but the TV was!😁 Anyway - YAY!🛰👽👍🌟 Dennis Hopper being it this was quite the bonus too. Live the Drive-in theater ad at the opening!

The exterior shot of the IIST assembly area and all the exterior scenes of the "other" world as well as the interior shots of the alien craft were above par for sci-fi in this time frame. I liked the story better than the other space vampire movies of the time it was more cerebral than just fighting vampires in outer space. I've look for it and short of antenna tv or buying the dvd it's been hard to find, I'll save it for my next watch. Thanks for making it available.

Lovely colourful space fantasy which borrows scenes from classic Russian Sci Fi movies, hence the disjointed scenes, continuity and dialogue. Basil (Sherlock Holmes) Rathbone adds a touch of class to the proceedings and, though they seem light years apart - it would only be 3 years before Dennis Hopper would be having a different kind of 'trip' in EASY RIDER. Actually a decent sci fi flick, especially when you take into consideration its microscopic budget. The music during the opening credits is the original recording of composer Ronald Stein's score for "Not of This Earth" (195?) which Roger Corman directed. For its use here, the tape was played at a slower than usual speed. Much of the film's other background music is lifted from the original recording of Stein's score for "The Undead" (1957), also directed by Corman. Judi Meredith had been training to become an Olympic ice skater, but she injured her knee in a fall and decided to pursue an acting career instead. She also appeared in "Jack the Giant Killer" and William Castle's "The Nightwalker" which starred Barbara Stanwyck.

Yes. This is low budget creativity in Hollywood (where it can be hard to put a little extra quality "spin" on things due to high cost of everything) at its best. Everyone really tried and, in spite of its budgetary flaws, this film has a kind of consistency in its mood, its eerie feel. I think Joe Dante once said he felt this film recalled those colorful SF paintings of Frank R. Paul. I think that that's not far off the mark. Actually, sometimes being too slick and mainstream in style can strip a film (or any art) of its personality, its individuality so all you are left with is a kind of off-the-shelf "factory-made" product.
