san francisco rush 2049 was by far midway's best arcade port to the n64 and arguably the best arcade port from anyone on the system. while the dreamcast version was slightly better, the n64 version was truly impressive with fantastic audio and graphics that were extremely faithful to the arcade version - moreso than any other arcade game midway released on the console.
@jeterjr289 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I beat that game not too long ago with my wheel and it was a ton of fun. Without a wheel with pedals and the need to shift the game isnt as fun but still a classic.

Shaun Martin i know ): i just think how awesome it would be if someone were to revisit those three games and re-release an "HD" remake of them nowadays - but lord knows that's unlikely to happen. i don't even know who owns the rights to them anymore since midway and atari are basically no longer existing.

The format was very similar to the original super nintendo's offroad... that game my bro and i played all the time...but what was addicting about that game was the damage meter and not knowing what was coming up....ironicly the popup was the excitement...as well the cash to improve stats...so i think of this more as not different as the super nes, maybe a part 2 for the super nes...which for those not familiar with the franchise this game must be strange...but i had fun with it.

I think the critics were dead wrong on these titles. One critical review for this one simply stated "For those interested in this game, don't be". I feel like there was some bad blood stewing between reviewers and the developers of the franchise after they panned Cruis'n. There is certainly a time and place for racing games which don't require lots of practice and skill in order to have a good time playing, and graphics as well as realistic driving physics actually aren't everything in making a good racer. Still, these games are polarizing even today. I think that a lot of people who didn't play them first, bought into the critical narrative. As for this one, it escaped my detection back in the day. My favorite will always be the original Cruis'n.
