I drove my 2017 cx5 gt on gravel roads fulled with mud for 80km straight right threw a logging site going around 60+km/h in the rain. it handled it great lol.

Hey Dave, is it possible to turn off the stability control completely in this car? Or VDC, or whatever they call it in various vehicles today? I know currently it says available engine options is just the 2.5, but it somewhat falls behind some of the small SUV's today with concerns to mpg. The current new CR-V is on paper, getting 29-34mpg? Mostly publications reviewing it says its pretty accurate if not even higher, while now the CX-5 is on the middle to lower end of the mpg spectrum of 24-31mpg. However, Mazda is saying that they are bringing the Skyactiv Diesel for the CX-5 and it also talks about it on mazdausa website. I've been hearing about 170-175hp, and 300-310lbs tq with about 40mpg. I hope you will get your hands on one of those when they are available.

What goes into your camera placement? It seams that it would be more beneficial for both your time and my vantage point if the cameras were a little higher and showed more of the road to tire contact. As they stand now you have a lot of cleaning going on and vantage points that are too close to the ground to give me a sense of what's happening. All IMHO! Thanks for the video.

Does anyone reading this, own a CX-5 that is 5 or more years old ? Have you had trouble with the transmission ? Mine is giving a whining sound. I'm in the U.K. where I'm told, the CX-5 SKYACTIV transmission is a sealed unit that requires no change of oil. So why is a 5 year old CX-5 Sport Nav with 64,000 miles on the clock, having transmission problems ? Please let me have your experience.

May I add? this is a 2017 Mazda all-wheel-drive most all wheel drive vehicles more then likely will handle this type of terrain well ..it's new! Give it 8 to 12 years and see how it responds doing the same test

Mazda´s CX´s lineup are not pack leading when it comes to Interior Space, Headroom and Storage. It is well known Mazda prioritize styling over utility for all its CX lineup which is not Bad, As far as I am concerned there are zero competitors with better looking designs... Yet as a Utility vehicle who will choose a CX-5 over a CR-V?

True tho. I'm in between CRV and CX5 too. Top of the line CX5 is $4000 more than the CRV but it adds the active-sense mazda thingy, memory seats and quieter ride. The CRV is way bigger on the middle seat (it has 3rd row here) and turbo engine (more fuel efficient) but the driving position is a little off for me. It's a difficult decision for me now.

Hi Aim. The only other models in this category I can think of that have a panoramic sunroof are the Subaru Forester, starting from the Limited Trim, and the VW Tiguan. As for drive quality, I can't tell you how that goes.
