that's dope Walter, good for yah! For me as a Flip living in the PH, pretty sad that it's known and still pushed as the Philippines that way you described it - I'm all for people finding love doe. Das great. For those who disagree in the comments, well I'll tell yah it's a common thing for overseas guys to visit Asia for finding relationships. And like someone else commented, some people meet just for a few days and end up staying together for a long time. Lots of Filipinas are encouraged and even the whole Philippines has a good hearty laugh when there's a "kababayan" that found love overseas and can live a nice life in a different country.

Walter, you need to hang out with her family including relatives if it goes past the 2nd or 3rd date. The problem with dating to marry like with regular dating, you are putting your best self forward whereas family, especially siblings, don’t really have to and will most likely show their true selves. That’s a good indication of how she might be once she’s comfortable with you. Prenup, get married but don’t put a baby for 2 years or more. Enjoy each others company, but also take her on a purposefully hard vacation where shit just goes wrong constantly. That’s gonna bring out her real self and you can decide whether you wanna give the rest of your time and money on this earth to this woman.

I agree with Bart that the mentality of “we have to make this work” for arranged marriages *back then* probably did help the relationship persevere and last. However, we live in a different world now with the age of the internet, social media and dating apps. People’s attention spans have reduced significantly. People get bored easily and always want the next best thing, always questioning if this person is the right one in an ocean of fish. “Open relationships” are also increasing, and we live in a much busier and fast-paced world. We have to achieve much more nowadays in order to make a decent living, despite having more opportunities and resources. It’s no wonder people are getting married much later in life and birth rates are declining. It’s honestly real sad…

This is kind of tough, there is definitely a need to chill when going on dates like that, you need to allow both to be able to enjoy, be themselves, etc. There won't be anything long lasting otherwise, sure it requires a lot of patience, but you've got to think that you will eventually find somebody. If either of you rush or put a front to look better, all of that will fall and crumble in the future. There is a different pressure but it needs to flow well, to be present in the moment. In some ways it might different from a normal date but in other ways, the principles are still the same.

Yup, there's definitely a big Korean population in LA/SoCal. Also, Korea Town is pretty well known too.
