Cheetahs tend to have horrible anxiety so when in captivity they are often raised by or with dogs for the purpose of alleviating that anxiety it works pretty well too 😅

​@Cassxowary If raised in captivity, they have zero survival skills as their mother wasn't able to teach them in the wild. You are essentially praying for their deaths. It is unfortunate, but sadly, they can't be released into the wild. Humans have even tried to act in the teaching role but with little to no success. There are some great documentaries on the subject.

Gaynor has the right idea about the cheetah & the dog; there are some zoos that when animals like that are babies, they'll bring in puppies as kind of support animals & they grow up together & their friendships last a lifetime.

@@StevenCryar I was just watching a video on Facebook about animals from That Good News Girl & one of the clips was a cheetah with her emotional support tortoise best friend (called her "supportoise" in the clip); the cheetah was raised around house cats & other animals, but really seemed to click with the tortoise & they do everything together. 🐆🐢

Orphaned big cats tend to be raised by dogs in captivity. They won’t hurt the dog that raised it but doesn’t mean they’re safe around any other dog. Just like a Lion pack may accept a human (Dean Schneider) but they only accept THAT human.

Zoos pair cheetahs with dogs to socialize them. Also, cheetahs are very different from tigers, lions, and other big cats. Cheetahs are the largest of the "lesser cats" (which includes housecats) and are only aggressive to humans when rabid.

One of the coolest things about visiting the Galapagos islands was there are no native large land predators so the animals don't know to be afraid of humans. Birds will land on you, not because they've been fed before and want a handout but for the same reason they'd land on a rhino. I was there many years ago so I imagine it's more curated now, but I took a nap on a beach with a bucket hat over my face and woke up with a bunch of seals laying on and around me.

Hey Daz, that was a Turkish Kangal, puppy. They get to be over 200 lbs, and have a bite pressure of around 750 psi. Shepherd dog, that kills wolves one on one. I have seen videos where one Kangal held off 5 wolves. Usually all the videos show owners of herds having at least 5 Kangals overseeing the herd.

I put in a doggie door for my German Shepard, and now ,I come home from work to find him with all sorts of "friends". I was cool with it until the baby skunk incident happened. I got him a Kitten for company. He's happy now that he has his baby.

I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas not far from the Texas/Louisiana border so we also have swamp land and bayous. My dogs bring home blue crabs and baby gators. The first time I saw a crab scampering across my living room floor I about fainted. I thought it was a huge spider. It went under the couch and I was screaming!! Lol Now I'm used to it. I check their mouths before I let them inside!

The weird looking dog with the sheep looked like an Anatolian shepherd. Our dogs also befriended deer, we have a set of twins that have literally grown up hanging with the dogs which is crazy because we live within walking distance of downtown. My son out in the country had 2 pigs the dogs brought home, they couldn't find the owner so they stayed.

at 05:23 those are hunting dogs used specifically for deer hunting. The dogs have tracking radios so the hunters can figure out where the dogs might cross a road . I'm not a fan of that style of hunting but every year the local hunting club takes at least one bear. This year they got a 5-600 pound black bear a few miles from my house.

Got to be careful in some states (mine included )when it comes to dog and deer because if a dog chases a deer or antagonizes it it can get your dog put down if it makes a habit of it. A lot of times the first time it does, we're going to get a warning and a fine.

When I was growing up in Texas, the ranch next door had tigers and lions as pets. I'd often see them in a huge cage on the back of their truck as they went anywhere on the ranch... We were always told never to approach them, but now and then, we could pet them and help feed them. I was told years ago, that there are more tigers in Texas than there are in India now. I was living out in the country once and one day I opened my front door and there were 3 cows in my yard and to this day I don’t know why that scared me but it did! I was also pregnant so maybe that had something to do with it

Zoos here have started using dogs as support animals for big cats because it helps them to enjoy themselves more. It also helps give homes to rescue dogs. 😄

I heard you say "where did the cow come from"? Dad had cows years ago, and well, cows get loose. I've seen a bull cafe walk through the strands of barbed wire fence. Wow. I've seen cows hop over a fence. Again, wow. And sometimes someone will leave a gate open. Our bull and one of the cows one afternoon got out due a gate being left open, and they went on a walk about the valley. We left the main gate open, and after about a hour they returned...we assumed because they knew it was dinner time and we just directed them to the open gate. By the way, I hate cows, except on a BBQ.

We had a raccoon, when I was little. Our neighbors had a raven and black bear cub they rescued. Both were AWESOME to play with. Yes ravens have cognitive skills. Eventually the bear just got too large and she went to the zoo. But when we visited she would come running to see us

That dog is one of the huge livestock guard dogs ears are cut tho into triangles when they was puppy and stitches back up i heard it was for ear infections but idk i think people think it looks cool but cmon now

The dog you commented on saying it was strange looking appears to be an Anatolian Shepherd dog. They are livestock guardian dogs. It looks like it's ears were altered.
