The biggest difference from deathcore to death metal is the vocals. Deathcore vocalists are more versatile and use many more tones/techniques than death metal vocalists who tend to have one dominant monotone vocal. For example you very rarely hear high tones in death metal whereas in deathcore it is a component of almost every song. Another big difference is the emphasis on breakdowns & slams which are used much more frequently and often characterize entire songs.

deathcore is mainly known as deathcore because of the breakdowns in pretty much every deathcore song i guess lmao. also the fact that there's a range of vocals that most other metal genre's use but deathcore uses multiple different ones like in this one where he's used like 4 different kinds. you could also argue it's because of the speed as well, most all deathcore bands go REALLY fast.

Dude reclaimer, and primordial were amazing albums. Its honestly hard to compare the other 2 to melancholy. Melancholy has a more blackened death core sound with less relentless guitar playing, but has more chugs, and a different sound altogether, but primordial has some of the best guitar riffs I've ever heard. Check out the aftermath of jat-krula. Its insane. Their writing on mausoleum of liars is incredible, and both of those first albums are just great.
