Will you be making a video on the time news now Patrick was assaulted by the York Nebraska police? He requested a complaint form, was denied and then the officer who denied him the form followed him into the parking lot and attempted to batter Patrick by his own admission after taking several pictures of Patrick. Patrick and the girl he was with (not sure what his relationship with her is) left and went back to their vehicle to discover the same officer stalked them to their vehicle to take their tags and vin number off the vehicle. When they blocked the officer's view of the tags he went to the front to get the vin and broke Patrick's finger with his flashlight. Finally he went to the back and used force to move the girl out of his way to take their tags. He claims to be a 40+ year veteran of the force but breaks several laws to deny people a complaint form and find out who they are.

@alexsnow33194 жыл бұрын
I offered up ideas where they work like other dash and security cameras. Constantly loop recording, but only saving once activated. They cannot turn off the camera or alter it in any way. It includes the 5 mins prior to the activation signal and the 5 mins after the all-clear signal. The camera is tied into the radio so if they use it, it starts to save the recording. Dispatch and the commanding officers are the only ones able to send the all-clear command to stop recording. Dispatch will also activate the recording if they dispatch a particular unit. Rules in place about shutting off the radio. The data on the camera must be saved, stored and VERIFIED at the end of each shift by a superior. If any shenanigans happen, that commanding officer gets caught up too. Not to mention adding federal level laws that govern the way law enforcement interacts with the public. There HAS to be a standard.

My mom dated one, and they really are crappy people.... quite manipulative if they don't get their way, and prone to lying to make themselves look as good as possible . . . domineering too. People with an inferiority complex are not domineering, but submissive. They think other people's opinions hold more weight than their own. @russelloats4 жыл бұрын
That's a double edge sword that could yield multiple results. You can have officers abiding by the law and keeping themselves accountable, but you can very well see the other end of more corruption and making sure they don't lose that pension. What really needs to happen is more body cameras, one's that can't just be turned on an off on a whim. More training and background checks. And a separate entity to investigate cases of the police. To many times we hear stories of "We investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong." And one more thing, we can't allow police officers who have been fired (on legit grounds that they are not fit to be an officer) from one county to be allowed to become an officer again in another. That defeats the purpose of firing them to begin with.

Back in the the late 1990's I was living in Boulder in a basment apartment. One morning I was out in the front yard cutting up cardboard boxes to fit into the recycle bin. Suddenly, two Boulder cop cars came speeding up the gravel road leading up the to the house at the top of a cul-de-sac. The cars screeched to a halt in front of where I was standing and four cops jumped out of the cars with weapons pointed at me -- two pistols and two shotguns. The cops were yelling: "Drop the knife (I was using a butcher knife to cut the boxes) and drop face down on the ground." I told them I was cutting cardboard to fit into the recycle bin but they were really pumped-up and yelling at me to "drop the weapon and hit the ground." It was really intensely frightening to have four guns pointing at me with cops so f*ckin' agitated because I was cutting up cardboard in the front yard. But anyway, I dropped the knife -- and hit the ground face down. Then the cops yanked me up from the ground and yelled at me: "What are you doing?" I told them I was cutting up card boxes to fit into the recycle bin. They said they got a call that someone at this address was waving a knife around and threatening to commit suicide. I told them: "Is this how you approach someone who is distressed and threatening to commit suicide? Were you going to kill me because I was going to commit suicide?" I mean talk about not de-escalating a situation. The cops just laughed like the whole incident was just so funny and got into their cars drove away.

I found him obnoxious. He could have handled the situation much better. I don't see this as "standing up for himself", but rather causing a huge scene which took many officers away from potentially handling other more critical situations that he pretended to be concerned about.

@joshuahubbard73003 жыл бұрын
That action is the only one I disagree with lol. As soon as the officer said he felt threatened by the grabber the last thing you want to do is raise it up as a weapon. I mean seriously anything can be a weapon, and for those of you saying this could not be a deadly weapon have you ever broke a small hollow metal tube, the edges do get razor sharp. So saying it was not a weapon is a 50/50 split...hell a salt shaker and sock can be a weapon lol. Rest of the vid hell yeah the kid was 100% correct, but when a cop says put down the weapon and your like "what weapon" while holding something LIKE a weapon kinda defeats the purpose lol. Hell this cup of coffee I am drinkin while typing this could be considered a weapon depending on how I hold and present it lol.

It cost a lot of money, but in cities where this behavior is common, cops get shot by random snipers. That is because the citizens correctly regard cops as dangerous criminals, and decent officers go elsewhere. Apparently, Boulder PD does not desire this kind of relationship.
