I live about 3 miles from the state theatre, Kalamazoo is the birth place for Gibson guitars, and a huge blues town. Used to be a huge metal capitol until the scenes closed down some years back, its kind of like a ghost town of good musical roots. Western changed the downtown area and killed the scene turning into a crap college town. Some greats played the state theatre, from Hendricks to Metallica!
