Goldbridge does not know what amortisation means. If you buy a player for £60m over five years and then sell him for a massive loss; it’s still a massive loss - but one that is spread over the period of remaining contract. Amortisation is not the avoidance of debt but the delay of it.

Great show. But I disagree with the implied criticism of Casemiro who might sit out his contract despite being told he is surplus. He has every right to do this. He is on £00K per week for another year and Utd are contracted to pay this. It was exactly the same last summer when Mark criticised Maguire for not leaving to West Ham. The problem here is Utd who offered contracts with wages that were too high and too long. You reap what you sow. It's why we mustn't over pay this summer Better to walk away that over pay.

Rasmus is a young player and should be supported unreservedly, like Mainoo and Garnacho. The Club let Rasmus down last season by not having a second available striker for him to learn from and rotate with. With that said some of Rasmus’ performances both for Utd and in the Euros have been poor. The Club need to provide the stage for his development to ensure that he becomes a prolific goal scorer otherwise the club will suffer from a lack of goals as seen for the past several seasons.

What we really need is an experienced player in his 30s, who doesn't care about his career anymore and who wants to use United to secure his pension. Ideally it will be a player for a position that doesn't need filling so we can rest him for most of the season, and the few games he does play he will force one of our decent players out of position and completely upset the team balance. We have to be careful to drag the negotiations out until the last day though, so that we can pay the maximum price for him in order to avoid the transfer window being a complete shambles with zero signings. I hope I am not disappointed.
