I was born in Blackpool, England in 1986 and lived there with my American born parents until nearly the age of three years. My father lived there with estranged relatives from the age of seven to to eighteen. They divorced in 1990 shortly after moving back to the USA permanently with my older brother and I. I vividly recall the news of Princess Diana's death and the heartbreak felt by both my mum and dad. The funeral at Buckingham Palace was broadcast internationally on September 6th, 1996, one day before my tenth birthday. I remember feeling an immeasurable amount of grief that day without really knowing how significant the person being honored was. I remember being struck by her image and how familiar it seemed .. it was then that my mother told me that Prince Charles and Princess Diana had visited Blackpool in 1988 and that my parents were among the crowd that greeted them. They had taken my older brother and I along. The Royal Couple shook hands with the entire congregation, and apparently the Princess herself kissed both my brother and I on the forehead and told my mum how gorgeous we were. Once she explained that to us, I immediately understood how Diana resonated with me personally. It was only then that I clearly remembered those soft blue eyes of hers that illustrated such warmth, sadness, hope and compassion. Every image I see of her to this day fills me with a mix of sadness that her life was so tragic and taken away so suddenly, as well as joy and hope for a brighter tomorrow thanks to the compassion she shared among the citizens of this world far and wide. ❤ RIP my dear angel. ❤

I saw/see a woman who was ridiculed and stripped of her innocence by Charles from the very beginning. It is plain to see, even in their first interview together, he was mocking her. Frightening to see him with a handkerchief over his face and blowing at the three of them at the piano all these years later, with the lives as they are. He didn't love her and felt pressured to marry her solely based on her purity and family status/wealth. She was willing to be the good wife nevertheless and he betrayed her in probably, every way possible. The queen did everything in her power to salvage Charles' reputation, even to the point of making herself the enemy in the face of public exploitation.

Do not understand why Charles after indicating he was an adulterer on television, the Queen being the Head of the Church which disapproves of adultery and marriages to divorcees, did not remove him from succession. Diana was correct to imply that the Palace does what is needed to survive by removing obstacles in their way. I miss Diana as she was light in the world for me.

For real. It should have been named for William to be her successor after that. I guess Charles had something up his sleeve that his mother didn't want coming out. Maybe she didn't want to complicate things by demoting his position, stripping him of Prince of Wales and becoming the Duke of something. That would probably make Diana a duchess or maybe they still would have made to divorce. They probably would have kept the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales, but no longer be in the line of succession. She probably would have given William a more prominent title though. That's what should have happened. Then again I did hear that Charles didn't want to be king. So maybe as punishment, she left him in the line of succession when all the while he was trying to remove himself and it didn't work, lol. Why do we have to be punished though?

She mentioned that they were 3 people in this marriage i think she was innocent and naive. Seems they were four including Andrew Parker Bowles. He is Williams godfather and Charles is the godfather of Andrew's and Camilla's son. They agreed on this fourthsome. But didn't inform Diana, she had no idea what she got herself into. It is despicable.

I read the rather large book about Paul Burrell and his story about being a young person, working for the royal family. He was close to her majesty Queen Elizabeth, her household and then as butler to the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana, later on, he worked exclusively for the princess and his book, I actually still have, and occasionally pick it back up and have a read. Diana was an icon of our time, her fashion, , her hair style and everything about her life and her family was out there for us to digest, and I’m sure there are many people who miss her and mourn for her still. I know I do. ❤
@suzanking56257 ай бұрын
Regardless of WHY Diana agreed to do the interview, she chose to do it. She said what she said and it is now and going forward an historical document. A hundred years from now people examining this period of history will tell of all Diana's men and the adulterous Prince of Wales. Diana, "My Life Is Torture" and Tampon Charlie. The Queen knew Charles was banging Camilla. Prince Philip knew Charles was banging Camilla. Charles' family knew. Camilla's husband knew. Who didn't know ? Diana. Nobody expected Charles to be a virgin, but he was expected to marry one. When a man leaves off marriage until he's 32 years, age appropriate virgins are in very short supply. They wanted two children out of her - and got that. Diana was a casualty of their system. There is an active attempt to reshape history now, to make Charles the victim. "She was so crazy, mentally unbalanced, and paranoid that poor poor Charles had no other choice than to run back to Camilla. Lies. He never left Camilla. Charles told Diana that he had no intention to be 'the first Prince of Wales without a mistress'. Instead, he chose to parade up the aisle and in front of his Sovereign, his God, the peers of the land, and millions of others lied his face off BECAUSE when the Prince of Wales sins, God winks and looks the other way.
@tayyuhh3727 ай бұрын
You are the 1st person I've seen mention about how they are trying to rewrite history. They are actively trying to portray Charles as a victim and it's infuriating how so many are just looking right past it. Watching these documentaries from 1996 or 97 and all these royal correspondents are saying "there's no way the public will allow Charles to marry the mistress, it's not going to happen" and years down the road, it happened. Then you have Harry actively telling us about how Charles, Cowmilla and William low-key talked to the press about him and Meghan just to have them print those horrible stories so that THEIR public perception looked so much better. That is such a TOXIC system and I don't think it's anything like a family unit that they try to portray. Effin weirdos is what they are. Really need to do away with them.

Diana's interview indeed holds historical significance, capturing her perspective and experiences. I think we can say that this interview was the nail in the coffin for Diana with the Royal Family. As a result, she lost her security detail and as a result of that, she wasn’t protected the night she passed. Why hasn’t Martin Bashir EVER said anything?? He might not owe us the public an explanation….but in the wake of the stuff that’s come out about HOW he got this interview, I think he OWES William and Harry one. Of course they won’t take it….but he owes them at least that. Diana was their mother….and her loss was DEFINITELY felt by them in a way none of us can understand….unless you’ve lost your mother.

In this documentary, Diana maintains it was her Australian (where I am from) & New Zealand trip in 1983, that lead to the birth of who she became, the metamorphosis from shy girl to most talked about woman in the world! She said by the end of the NZ visit, she was a different person. But in 1981 & 1982 I saw Diana plenty of times on TV shorts in different parts of England, talking to the crowd on official visits there. (One notable example were the Brixton riots in April 1981, when Charles and Diana were close to the violence, even before they were married). She makes out here her Aussie visit was like something she had never done before, saying that first night in her hotel room in Alice Springs, nearly finished her off! True, it might have been her first overseas visit as Princess of Wales, but what she had to do there, was not much different from her own country. I do believe that this whole production had been rehearsed before hand, and Diana pretty much had been coached in what to say.

Several inquiries into the death of Princess Diana have determined it to be a tragic accident, attributing factors such as high speed and alcohol influence. Despite numerous conspiracy theories, no substantial evidence has emerged to substantiate the allegation of murder.
@sharonreeves90932 ай бұрын
Camilla has worked tirelessly to establish herself as a member of the RF. I do believe she has worked hard and takes her charities very seriously. I also believe she truly loves King Charles but, the truth of the matter is that, no matter what she does, she will never live up to the love and support the overall public had for Diana unfortunately. The tragic match between Charles and Diana was a RF failure. I loved Princess Diana and no one can replace her. 29:57

This was an arranged marriage. So, he was honest and Diana is in her own fantasy marrying a Prince at 19, Charles at 32. This marriage broke down as expected, He had a life before her and was in love with someone else. She pushed him to love her, which is impossible.

She was 19-years-old! She had no life experience, she was a virgin, and so naive. Shame on you for blaming a teenager instead of a grown man who used her to make children off of. She genuinely loved that creature.

He should have married Camila to start with . Doomed from the start. To big of an age difference , nothing in common and no true Love .
@elizabethszymanska21077 ай бұрын
So if he knew she was naive he shouldn’t marry her. She was only 19 and maybe his suggestion should be to wait another year or two and then see it. Or just waiting for her would make him love her more. I was 19 too when I married first and did not work. He was only 5 years older. I think that 19 is too soon. These days women don’t even get married at that age unless somewhere in Afghanistan. Those Muslim countries. Maybe not even that anymore. I don’t know.

And now go back and watch the Meghan and Harry Oprah video. Meghan wears the same colors, has the same wildly dramatic eye makeup she has never worn except then, her body posture, tone, words, and claims about her mental health and how she was treated all identical. Harry thinks shes the second coming of Diana and that's exactly.what she wants everyone to think. Before their first date, she found out his mothers favorite perfume and then wore it that night. Perfect example of why I dont like her. Very calculated, manipulative, and a slap on the face to Diana and to anyone else actually suffering

It is very strange, downright weird, for any adult to dislike a complete stranger whom they've never met over bits of gossip which they would have no knowledge of truth. It has been unfortunately shown that when people who behave and think like that are role models as parents, their children have no concept of critical thinking and base all their beliefs on gossip, rumor and ignorance rather than on educated knowledge and logical reasoning.

I think that her fashion game obviously changed for the better after the interview. It is clear to me that she wasnt trying to stand out from the royal family. She wore the same deranged easter egg style that everyone else did. Up until this at least.

The Panorama Interview is the reason that Diana is dead today😪Diana was not aware that the BBC used her for clicks ! She said horrible revengeful things about Charles ! Diana said that Charles would not be fit for the top Job. That was the sentence that changed her Life from Marriage to Divorce. Princess Diana would be alive today if she had not done that tricky BBC Panorama Interview ! Diana did't only suffer through the firm. She had 8 Love Relationships in search of a Fantasy Love. She felt led down and betrayed by all her lovers, because she was not yet mature enough to understand that you have to love yourself first without any Needyness for a Fairytale Lovestory. Dody was a cocain Junky and a spoilt Kid. A mature woman would have never engaged herself with such a fraud full unmature man. Would Diana be alive today she would have commited herself to many important Charitys . Diana would have become a humble figure like Mother Teresa. And Harry would not be trapped by that Golddigger Meagain Markle. We all are able to learn from her mistakes ; that we have to be careful whom we trust and to learn to regain Wisdom Sometimes it is not clever to be too spontanues.Always remember that every action of yours has a Response. My prayers go to Princess Catherine of Wales and King Charles for a full Recovery 🙏🌹🇩🇪

@@TruthHumble3220 She thought that speaking out about the marital situation she found herself in would assure her security and protect William and put Charles and Camilla out to pasture. She forgot that the institution and the Queen would side with Charles and take her children if necessary. They were old enough to go to boarding school and Charles quickly hired a young women to be the "nanny" to letting Diana know that she wasn't needed anymore. Queen decided that ignoring Diana from than on was the right thing to do for the crown and the future. Having a lover no matter how abandoned and lied to you were is not acceptable if you are a women. The only female that got away with adultery is Princess Anne.

I remember watching the airing of this program. She was crucified in the British press, much like what they’ve done to her son Harry. She told her truth just like Harry. It wasn’t until after her death that the truth started coming out from people who knew Diana was telling the truth. These journalists who today speak kindly about her but were horrible during her lifetime are the same people who blast Prince Harry for telling his truth. Look how Harry has been treated and it’s exactly what happened to his mother. People who didn’t live through her time have no idea how awful the Royals, the press, and their friends were to Diana. Today, these “experts” want people to believe Diana was tricked into saying what she said but that’s not true. Her book was her truth. Harry’s book was his truth but the Royal Family are experts at hiding the truth in favor of a favorable perception.

Well, for better or for worse, Princess Diana obviously felt she had to get a lot off her mind. Prince Charles probably didn't know how to deal with her (I suppose) emotional outbursts, the rest of the royal family probably didn't know what to do about her emotional outbursts and my guess is they were out of their depths with her. I could never understand why the media/paparazzi had to be so mean to her.
