You don't know how they found that dog. Those communities don't have the infrastructure to spay and neuter unless someone sponsors a dog. Maybe they found him in the desert. He's not in the best place, but it looks like they love that pup. I hope they take him east or to the south. I would get out of AZ and take him with them. And even people down on their luck love animals. It's the hard people that would do anything for a meal that you should watch out for... looks like the people they try to associate with wouldn't hurt him but help him. I think, despite where they came from, these people will do better when they get the hell out of there.

Nothing against addicts, Im a recovering addict and have a meeting available to everyone on Friday nights. Ive never seen these two at my meeting. Help is available, employment is out there- even in Gila Bend. They choose to live this way. I feel bad for the 60+yr old dad they are mooching off of. Not sure that is even true anymore. Kids today have more access to see what drugs do then ever before and yet they still don't care and want to see what all the fuss is about. That's the problem with some people, they are so F'n stubborn and thickheaded that they always have to attend the school of hard knocks and learn everything by doing. They are the type of person who refuses to take advice and will do the complete opposite just to try and piss you off and show they know better. "Don't take drugs" is a challenge to them. Oh yeah, just watch how I can do 100 pounds of meth and then stop. Don't tell me what to do or how to live, I'm 18 and know more then everyone else who has ever lived since the dawn of man.

.... Thats not the reality of drug use. I am gonna walk you through this nice and slow so you catch on Rich, white, and living on Daddy's money; you just thought of someone who lives on cocain and weed didnt you? Because that ia the reality of recreational drug use. So why would poor folk spend what coukd eaisly be half thier food budget on drugs? The answer is distrubing. Because Meth, cocaine, and pain pills all let a person go to work even when they are sick, worn out, or underfed. And Dr's cost a lot more to the poor then any of the above mentioned drugs. So the question isnt what drug will do to you, everyone knows. The question is: The devils at your door, you can play the addiction game and maybe win, but if you do not, you stay home sick he is there to kick you out, starve you, and force you to watch your very own children starve to death or die of heat exposure. So what do you say? Gonna flip that coin for life, or take a slow painful death?

I know plenty of veterans and they are doing very well. After they turn 65 they get Social Security in addition to military pension, plus free medical for life. Home owners, nice trucks, Harleys....The "homeless vets" are homeless for the same reason anyone else is - addiction, convicted felons and general pains in the ass that their families want nothing to do with them. Some veterans take their pensions, free college, no down payment home loans and build a good life. Some become criminals and low lifes.

They don't need luck they need discipline and sobriety. The 2nd people (the guy and the girl) are two young able-bodied healthy free people living in the USA. Especially the guy. People around the world cross oceans, spend their life savings literally risking their lives to come to the USA to be in the position these 2 are in. Yet they lay around in a trailer doing meth all day. If they got more "luck" they would just use it on meth unfortunately. I say healthy, because there are a lot of unhealthy people who physically couldn't survive in a trailer in those conditions, in that heat, without access to medicine or pills or healthy food. These people are healthy and able bodied enough that they can survive in those hard conditions. But they are on drugs so they're lost.

If you spend your your youth drinking, smoking, and getting high, this is where it leads your, if not to worse places. If you think this is the middle of nowhere, there are worse places. As a kid I lived in Ludlow, California. Ludlow was built around a watering station for the railroad, and Route 66 passed on one side. The town consisted of a small motel, a restaurant, garage, gas station, and a few old houses and trailers. All that is left today is the restaurant and the gas station. The houses are abandoned, and the trailers scrapped for the aluminum. But even in the hellhole of Ludlow, where 112 would be a cool day in July, there was work for anyone willing and able to do it, and everyone did.

A commenter here makes a profound statement when he said, “some people are content being poor.” I hired a guy who still works for me at $25 per hour. He was supposed to work 40 hours per week which of course would be $1,000 weekly. He and his wife have 5 kids and live in a run down trailer house and have 2 junker cars. After a couple months he started having excuses after excuse about why he needed to work less. Eventually he said he can’t work Fridays. After 6 months he averages 22 hours weekly - 100% by his own choice. He could work 40 hours whenever he wants. He fairly regularly shares his financial woes. He’s a good worker, just doesn’t want to work more. I believe he’s very typical of todays homeless people. The work is out there but you need desire to work.
