I know tons of people who are residents that were born here (my sister being one),so by you, technically wouldn’t be Aussies. I know a ton of people who weren’t born here that are technically Australian based on your resident argument (my husband being one). Being a resident doesn’t mean you’re NOT Australian. Being a citizen doesn’t mean you ARE Australian either. You can be a naturalised Australian and have ‘Australian’ on your passport but be born and grow up in a completely different country. As it was, I had to choose what nationality I wanted when I was 21 because I have parents with 2 different nationalities. As for Mel Gibson, he moved here when he was 12 in ‘68 and didn’t move to the states until well into the ‘90s. he had an Aussie accent for Pete’s sake. 4 of his children were born here and his wife was Australian. He went to school here. You don’t get much more Aussie than that.

If I know too much about an actor it makes it harder for me to believe their roles. All I really know about Keanu Reeves is he's apparently a very kind man that likes motorcycles. It doesn't matter to me where Keanu is from, which makes him a better actor to me than, say, Tom friggin' Cruise. Of course, I've seen roadkill that were better actors than Tom friggin' Cruise, so that's not a fair comparison. Reeves has a good blank face that lets you use your imagination more and believe in his acting more, if that makes sense, but when I see Tom friggin' Cruise all I can think of is him being in that stupid cult, threatening to have fired any hotel staff that look him in the eye, and jumping up and down on a couch like a damn fool and I simply can not take him seriously as an actor at all. Samuel Sellout Jackson is another actor famous for all the wrong reasons, too. The creator of these are doing us new fans a real favor with these clip shows.
