Ah yes, the annual NFL on Nickelodeon broadcast, the one alternative broadcast I'm looking for the year. I gotta say, this broadcast may as well be the very best of all broadcasts we've witnessed thus far: From the amazing presentation to the interesting game that unfolded to say the least. Sure enough there were flaws (like the rushed intro, the orange scrimmage line which imo thought I saw 2 First Down lines and the field goals that.. I don't really like how is broadcasted, I'll say), but considering the praises overshadow the flaws, what a broadcast this was. Now the question is, Will Nickelodeon catch lighting in a bottle at Super Bowl 58? Time will tell

I watched the Nick on NFL broadcast for the first time while the game was actually happening, and this was very enjoyable. I liked the graphics (execept for the field goal stuff) and the turtle references were well done. I hope they continue this year after year. The Toy Story version of the NFL game this year, if they make serious changes and work on making sure we can see the action, I would like to see ESPN+ try that again (they did well with the New City Greens NHL broadcast earlier in the year). (Edit: Thanks JG9 for making a longer but not-too-long video about this broadcast. I also anticipated watching this live but somehow forgot; I was binging something else and I didn’t get a reminder.) I also obviously anticipated JG9’s review video. That said I watched the 7-minute highlights clip put on YT by NFL. In no particular order, my thoughts were: a) I missed Gabby Neveah (?). I really enjoyed the enthusiasm she brought to previous broadcasts in the 2nd/3rd chair, and as JG9 said last year she has improved dramatically. Not having here for this broadcast left a void. b) I wonder if this game being an outdoor venue limited what Nick could do, or chose to do, with regard to gimmicks. Yeah Santa was there lined up at WR, and Yeti was there, but they didn’t seem to do as much. Last year when Yeti threw snowballs at the camera and broke the lens, that was a great interaction that “broke the 4th wall”. Not in this game. I don’t know any good reason why an outdoor venue would be limiting. And someone here will point out that SoFi is somehow considered an outdoor venue, but yeah no, not like Arrowhead. c) No Gronk elf, no Sheldon, no Patrick, etc. It really felt more like a regular broadcast with just some other gimmicks tacked on. (Edit: Again only going by the NFL highlight clip; I wish it had been longer; a lot of what’s in this video wasn’t in that video.) Agree Noah and Nate were awesome. Still better than Toy Story.

I feel right when they get word someone's seriously injured they'll cut to commentators and they'll just scramble to find things to talk about to get the kids minds off it. The fact that the Nickelodeon crew is getting the Super Bowl 4 years in when ESPN can't get one has been trying for 15 years tells you all you need to know; the NFL knows they have a winner with this game and this style. I would have to count this as Nickelodeon's 2nd outdoor game because SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. isn't an indoor venue. Don't let the ETFE cover fool you. It's really an outdoor venue with a canopy over it due to the design. That's why you won't see a college basketball Final Four there. As for the football knowledge gap between Raphael and Donatello, the latter turtle is the smartest of the bunch. The only thing I can't stand about Nick's telecasts is the camera angle used for placements. Seeing those from the side doesn't help us one iota. That's should've been changed for the 49ers/Cowboys playoff game.
