Thank you for your humor!! Funny guy!! I’m 75; it sure is tough getting older. When you’re young and bring grandma her nightgown and robes; you never once think someday that’ll be you. You hear her say when you ask her how she is: “To be old is the work of the devil!!” My aunt saying “Who needs it!!” HELLO?! Boy were they right!! Get a supply of reachers; when something falls, stay still and listen to WHERE it may have fallen. Don’t move ‘till you see it. Keep a reacher in every room. Learn to walk slow. Get a sweater and a robe with pockets to carry your phone…if you don’t want to wear that buzz thingy around your neck. Get prepared to look in the mirror and think, “Who the hell is that?!” Watch your address book get smaller as your friends pass away; the remaining ones asking if they should take out insurance. Make new friends of varying ages and keep up with the times. Play hidden object games to keep your memory alive. It works. Move….keep working your muscles. Yap with those friends; especially the funny ones. You’re gonna need that sense of humor. Use your own, too. Make them laugh ‘till they have to change their diaper or pee down their leg. Otherwise; it ain’t that bad. God gave you a chance to pass on your knowledge to the younger generations. I used to sit at my grandma’s feet and take it all in. Lovingly wrapping her legs; and spending more time with her than my cousins. I worked in an old age facility as entertainment and would listen to each one on what kind of life they had. So many different lifestyles; utterly fascinating to me. Thank you to all the elders I had and have the privilege to listen to. God Bless Us All. Hang in there.❤❤❤

Getting older is certainly a unique stage in life. I think back at my younger days and am totally amazed at all the stuff I got done in one day, much less one week. It was just a given. Always had good health until my fifties, dealing with that has been especially frightening at times. As long as I can manage my daily living and stay in my apartment and neighborhood, I’m good. It’s tough when you have always had very high expectations of yourself to cut yourself some slack. Thankfully I have always had an appreciation for the simple things and my dogs have been essential in maintaining a good attitude.

@MrBBaron Imho, that's part of the point. I believe this life is a test. What type of person are you? Are you worthy of eternal existence? Can you believe in something unseen? (John 3:16) Can you see the Grand Design, realize you are part of it, and understand everything, and everyone has been created for a purpose. I can't possibly fathom what Heaven will be like, but I'm sure folks 1,000 years ago couldn't imagine what life today would be like. My evidence is everywhere. The seasons, the tides, the very incredible existence and complexities of the human body, the wind in the trees, everything for a purpose. Everything part of a Grand Design. By a loving Creator willing to give us choice. I'm thankful, grateful, happy to be alive, but not afraid to die. My eyes are open. 🙏 Peace to you and remember, God is watching.

Funny. Growing old isn't for the faint of heart. And unlike the way you think and feel when young life out of the blocks and running as fast as your energy allows, it is NOT a sprint race. The older I get the more is driven home this fact. It's a freakin' MARATHONE! Pacing. It all comes down to pacing. Good luck with your run. Now excuse me I've got to get back to mine. John~

@carolcole5705 ай бұрын
@@johnmckown1267 Ohhhhhh John ! Well, let me entice you with total excitement ! Let me go back 50 years. After losing my husband and getting saved, some friends introduced me to Bible Prophecy. Balanced…..conservative. So, for the past 50 years, I have VERY CAREFULLY chosen whom I listen to or watch online or sit under in a church. John, according to scripture, WE are the Last Generation ( started May 14, 1948 ) before Jesus RETURNS. Notice that word RETURNS. This means “ feet touching down on earth’s soil “. BUT, in the Book of Daniel we are told that 7 years BEFORE Jesus returns, He will suddenly snatch all believers UP in the air TO HIM. The reason for this is because He plans on bringing His Wrath against all who have rebelled and spit on Him. ( John, I am Christian, in case you are looking cross-eyed about now. LOL ). So, now put your eyes on Israel……..the place that ALL prophecy is about. If you want me to expound, I will. BUT, bottom line, John, is that Christians are on the very very cusp of being snatched UP. True Christians are watching excitedly every minute. We are glued to the Telegram app to get the updates from Behold Israel. And watching Israeli newscasts. Now, if what I say doesn’t stir up excitement, longing, love, and terrific desire to be taken up by Jesus, then my only conclusion is that you must be spiritually dead. In this case, John, at LEAST ASK GOD to open your spiritual eyes, and to give you His discernment and wisdom. God bless you. Join me in the air. DON’T willfully be left behind.❤️
